The more I look at that subframe stand the more I like the idea. I was looking at doing something similar to run my gearbox up for the first time.

Did you find it vibrated alot with the engine running?

I only had the engine running with the sub frame bolted to the car, but it was not on its wheels it was using the jig, if that’s what you wanted to know.. Alan

Edit. and no It was sound no vibration at all, It’s a bit back end heavy, would have to be careful if it wasn’t bolted to the car

Hi Guys a quick update striped down the turbo, could not find a lot wrong with it, but I put this subject up in the help section of this site, and it was concluded that the wast gate may not have had enough presser on it, also the turbo its self was a bit tight from being stood in my sons garage for a number of years, I'm happy to report that I freed up the turbo and put more presser on the wast gate and now it spins up OK, not road tested it yet, but we can hear the dump valve..

Never rains but it pores after sorting the turbo and running the engine to temp., and re- tightening down the head bolts, found a bad oil leek, from the primary case cover, thought it was just a case of I did not use sealant on with the new gasket, so out with engine, and when I striped it down found that the oil pump was holding the case faces apart enough to cause it to leek, please have a look at my photos and can someone tell me is there a mod or something I can do to retain the bigger turbo oil pump..

This is the pump fitted to the turbo engine, I think I'm right when saying its to pump more oil round
for the turbo..

This the pump on my old engine..

I've had this happen several times. Ditch the washers, use Loc-tite. And. Relieve the casing a bit. Job done!
