Haha of course, ever since someone had a 'genuine carbon fibre' clad mini that was said to weigh a lot less than it did in reality *hehe!*

I'll be painting all my none 'genuine carbon fibre'. Must admit I've been somewhat put off using it ever since, but needs must.

Don't get me wrong, i like the appearance of the stuff, but as with everything, in moderation.

The new Kad beam as a lower profile cross section, ie doesn't move the wheel back in arch like the minispares beam.

So glad you posted that dude, I thought I was going mad looking at mine thinking it never used to sit that far back in the arch!

Got 3 hours on it today, manage to cut and weld in the new tubbed arch. Still need to grind the welds back then weld inside.

I asked Carl on facebook, they're not that bad actually! £265 ish iirc and 1kg lighter than std! Plus they're pretty pimp looking.

Do the arches cover in there original position? Or will they be mounted higher?

The group 2's will sit about 1/2" higher. I've had to trim them so they no longer wrap around the valence, but they look OK. I'm considering fitted some overider bumpers, so shouldn't be to bad.

I covered them up with a wet towel. Beam is just fitted for mock up purposes at the minute. It's got to come off to be anodised and a slight modification to heal board so it fit perfectly flat.

Definitely not a job to do on an already painted car. I set fire to mine, luckily the sportspack arches cover the scorch.

I'm going to get the car painted again anyway I think. As boot, door, inside boot, roof and front end all need painting. I've also got a few small blemishes on the rear valence and a panels. It was painted in 2008.

Ok in my quest to reduce weight, I've made the decision to fit Protech Alloy front coilovers, inc alloy top brackets.

Guess what, there actually weigh 209g overall more than my red dot cones, lightened hilows, protech dampers and DSN top bracket.

I considering not bothering and leaving the current setup and selling these on.

I will have to make custom bottom brackets to fit the billet top arms anyway.
