Well, it looks like the mini wont make the Blackpool Mini Run... it was supposed to be on last years but didn't make that either.

After turning it over again and getting the fuel system up to pressure, fuel starts to piss out of the union on the fuel pump :( I've tried to seal it using PTFE but it seems that the jubilee fasteners are not up to the job so I've just spent near on £100 on bloody fuel fittings to make it safe.

Still it isn't that far from being done so here is a photo to wet your appetite

Cheers Adrian, I've just got cooper s style wheels but in alloy rather than steel, they'll be painted black though

The fuel system has now been upgraded from jubilee clips to bloody expensive shiny stuff *wink*
I'm sure the scrutineers will be happier about the newer approach

Did a bit more on the mini today after the Blackpool Mini Run and couldn't get a spark... we checked all the wiring on the megajolt and found 2 wires wired up the wrong way so we tried again... NOTHING... after loads of tests etc we spotted on the forum that it might be the distance at which the VR sensor is set, so we moved it away and hey presto... we had spark, but the battery was so tired from all the other starting it wasn't powerful enough to get it going so we had to give up again.

Battery on charge and we are attempting to start it on Wednesday night fingers crossed!

*wink*

Bloody hell... I never thought I'd see the day but it actually runs!

Last night we blitzed the remaining jobs and got it ticking over (nearly), just need to look at fueling now on a rolling road.
All the electrics needed for an MOT are now working. I just need to bleed the brakes and clutch and see if the gearbox works...

Fingers crossed

MOT now booked for Monday and I am putting everything back in after the mammoth wiring session.
Also sprayed the wheels satin black to make it look less cooper like and drawn up a few retro looking stickers with a Lancashire theme.

This is a cracking Mini. I really like all the smalt details :)

I love the brake lines. Is tips made to your specs, or is it a kit?

I think this needs to be a concourse car before it becomes a competition car, looking really nice.
