Thanks mate, just been cleaning up all the arch holes in the rear quater and found the front of the rear arch is all rotten so I'm patching that up today. Trying to source a second hand door instead of repairing mine. I want it done for Combe action day so I need to be finding bit's to take the amount of work down

New sill and floor pan, the inner sill was spot on so it was left well alone. Only the other sill to fit now then the metal works about finished

Preety happy with that! I'll patch up the hole in the front footwell and then the sill can go on

Painted up the floorpan I fitted.

Wax'd all underneath and painted up the sill on the nearside today too so thats that side finished. Tomorow I'll get the sill on and then make a start on the painting and prep of the sill. I can look at getting the body somewhere near painting then!

What are you covering your new metal with? Is it just black paint?

It's always etch primed but then I just paint over the primer with whatever can's close to my mits. It'll all be comming back off anyway for the paint.

Got the sill on, an put a new door step in too as that was just so rotten when I looked from underneath.

Just putting some paint on the step to stop it getting wet but other then that I think I'm about ready to start prepping! *happy*

Popped upto Benross last night to pick up a new plenum, my old one I had to bodge the boost signal takeoff by tapping my old one and putting a bolt in there, then threading an airline fitting for the take off on the top right. I wanted it right so I decided I'd sort out a replacement.

New sill in primer, waiting for this to dry before I go and lather it in seam sealer.

New door I collected from APBellamy, sound chap! Fit's well and is completley solid. Just need to prep it then paint round the shuts etc.

(Is anybody suffering with all these massive pictures by the way? I would post the thumbnails like I used to but I found they never work when you try and open them? If anybody is just shout up :))

I got that door for apbellamy of a mint Mini 35 which had been written off.

Was a shame about the car but a bonus for me in bits.

Yeah he mentioned it was from a late low mileage car. Saved me a lot of time and effort fixing my old door so my car should be sorted sooner

I really need to keep this updated.

Mini's now in the garage, awaiting a lorry to come tomorrow to take it to a body shop to be painted *happy*

I've smoothed both front wing->front panel seams, A panels and scuttle. So there just going to go over anything I have missed, give it a good fettling with the DA to get it all key'd up then hopefully shoot some colour on it. While the car's gone I'm going to make a start on cleaning everything, polishing all the bright work and painting the fuel tank and roll cage. I'm undecided on what colour to paint the cage, Red, black or the same green as the engine?!

Body's going to be COF-1 which is just a slight shade red'er then standard flame red and the roof will just be a nice shiny gloss black again. They've promised it me back for the weekend which is awesome.

I'm off on holiday next week down to southsea with the missus, while I'm away dad's asked if I want him to flat and polish it for me which would be a massive help. Then when I get back I'll paint the subby up, drop the engine and subby back in, then it's just a case of refitting everything *happy*

As I said, while the car's away, I'll get busy cleaning up the bit's and bob's up. Made a start by doing the cage today...

Well, it's back!

The finish is straight from the gun, no flatting or polishing, just buffed. It's a bit hazy due to being over-buffed, but that should come out with some G10. Other then that, top job! Well chuffed.

Bootlid's still at there place as it all reacted really bad, they have painted it again thou an it looks like there onto a winner this time round so it'll be back Monday.

Roll cage is now in, as are my back light's. Just need some new bullet connectors to connect my light's up then the petrol tank can go in, then I'm onto building my doors back up.

That looks bloody good, but you need to get some fresh paint on that front subframe.
