Most definitely.

When I pulled my engine to bits, the thrusts had broken apart, damaging the crank.

I'm sure this was all down to the heavy grey clutch diaphragm. So I'd rather avoid it happening again if possible.

i reckon i will do a bit of a step by step soon using Garrys as a basis,

its actually pretty damn easy, you just need to drill out some rivets, get 6 short tubes made, and tap some holes.

It must be pretty easy, if I'm doing one. Saying that, I'll probably just oversee while Joe does it for me as usual. hehe!

A build guide would be good, but it will need a disclaimer of some sort.

lol,

nah i'm making you do this while I watch, its THAT easy lol.

i only made you do half the lob last time *hehe!*

the main issue is no one looks at vertos long enough to see how they work, if you atually pull one apart it becomes obvious.

Not updated this for a while. Mostly because I've not done anything due to lack of cash. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Anyway, I took Friday off to build up my short engine. It's my first time, so if anything looks wrong please let me know.

It turned out to be a bloody productive day and I'm really chuffed with how nicely it went together. It all turns over nicely with no hint of anything binding.

I just need to get the cam timing tweaked (I think its about 104deg at the moment) and adjust the under crown jets to give a bit more clearance. It feels like decent progress at last.

I can't thank Joe (mini13) enough. He's been a great help with this every step of the way and is always eager to help out. Thank you!

Looking good! It's great for motivation when things come together like that. What cam are you running?

Looking good,

bang on 2 thou on the mains by the look of that plastigauge,

just make sure there's plenty of cam jam (lube) on the cam and followers.

Oh, and have you staked those gallery plugs yet!

I've not staked them just yet. Hopefully I'll not forget before putting the rest together.

There is a shed load of strawberry lube on the cam and followers.

The cam is an Avonbar Phase 2, so should be timed in at 108deg? from memory.

Actualy i'm positive they are the same cam...

Anway, the timing for the Ph2 seems vary from 108-110 on the sheets, I'm wondering if this is due to the later ones having a longer exhaust duration.
