ah right i thought that would be the case, im guessing i will be ok with a 1 piece down pipe on mine, but ive got a lot more room than you.

although im not sure what there is to gain in running it the other way? more room for intercooler pipes?

im also running an injection subframe so ive got more space that way too, its making the front of the bay a right PITA to get everything in though.

actually, good point,

I am having issues getting a boost pipe passed the top rad hose, as you rad is out front you won't have the that issue.

i hadnt really thought about the bonnet getting hot, ive got some of that 3 layer crinkly heat sheild type stuff that demon theives sell. im going to make a heat sheild from that.

i think as long as i can get a custom intercooler core of the correct size all will fit in my bay nicely, although i have given up on having a grill, due to space.

cheers for all the comments guys.

thought id do an update,

the car is now abck on four wheels, i have finnished my cut down subframe/rear beam, and its fitted along with my SC hubs, ally rear drums, adjustable camber brackets and a set of recon'd radius arms which im going to cut of the knuckle cups to lightweight them a bit.

it also shows mu boot floor area ready for something to close off that big gap i think.

ive been sorting out all the controls inside, ive mounted my handbrake further back.

had a tower made to hold the internal gear change.

got a KAD biased pedal box, and started remounted my pedals to suit my seating position.

ive also finnshed fitting my steering column and also finnished the basic internals for that too, just need to lightweight them by turning a bit off them.

i got a few ideas of how im going to squeeze everthing in my bay.

and my insurance company has settle up for my daily lupo that was written off, which i have bought back, im going to spend the rest on the mini, should save it really but never mind!

i think i have found the coilovers i am going for, it just so happens we make the components for them at work, and i have just been trained up on the cnc lathe!

What are those steering column joints , where did you get them from ?

the column joint are racetech ones, the sell them in demon tweeks but are very expensive, i managed to get some off ebay a while ago and they were half price.

im not sure what the MC sizes are, i can check, im going to replace them with AP ones so they will be going spare soon.

james i seam welded it then added some extra metal around where the radius arms go, that was a brand new heritage when i started too!

i also got rid of the standard mounts and welded on solid ones, and extra mounts along the heel board.

im not sure of the weight, its light though!

I had the idea for the cut down rear subframe at mitp, after seeing the cost of a rear beam.

Did all you do was cut the rear of the subframe off and add some exra lighteng holes.

I'm suprised there arn't more cut down subframes about.

this is an awesome project.:)

ok i have had a look at the master cylinders.

as you look at them from the front of the car the left hand one is 3/4 and the right hand one is 5/8.

the came from a car with drums at the BACK:$ and kad 4 pots and 8.4" discs at the front.

im unsure on sring rates yet, im going to run a anti roll bar in the boot, i will go with the advice im given when i buy the dampers.

jim im not surprised you recognise some of the bits, your car has been one of my inspirations to my build.

the rear beam wasnt quite as easy as drilling a few holes and cutting it down.

i had looked at the beams out there and the quality and price is poor imo.

the beam has been lined up as near to perfect as i can get it top be, and with the solid mounts there is no movement or error to mess up geometries, i will get some pictures when its next off the car but im going to be doing some work on the rear end so it wont be afor a while yet.

thtas unusual, drums AND 6 pots on the front.... lol

looking smart though, is the rear "beam" just fixed at either end or are there some other mountings?

lol.

less spoilt more aggravated lately!

a cut down subby is something i'd like to do to mine at some point, (when i think about making it less whale like!)
although saying that the rid and handling are really good, better than i expected anyway, infact i may have changed my mind about putting 10's on it....

will that steering shaft need supporting on the centre section?

this really, really is going to be the tits when its done.
