Right got a bit more done! This stainless is a right PITA to work with...lol Everything that go's near it seems to magically go blunt. *laughing*

I got the 4 flanges done...its not everyday you see 4 unused flanges all in a row like that...*laughing*

The turbo flange just need the hole cutting.

Ive now milled an oil drain for the cam (cheers for the tip-off Matt) *wink*

Hopefully tomorrow it will all start looking more like an engine...im collecting my block so the final build can start..*tongue*

Fairly soon, now ive made the flanges the pipes sit really tightly in position so I can cut the cut-outs to make the collector.

Should hopefully be ready for welding in the next couple of weeks.

Thats what i like to hear.

BTW is it a low boost setup that youre going for?
Ive noticed all kheads use low boost. Is this because of the cc of the chamber?

Im basically gonna run as much as possible probably around the 18PSI mark. The CR is going to be 8.3:1 ish with it being injection, ally head, and huge IC I can't see it being a problem. *oh well*

As long as the bore size is kept to a reasonable size low CR's are easily achievable really.

When you say "all kheads use low boost" who's are you refering to, 'cause Jims is the only one I know of...lol and im sure that runs high boost?

Isn't the secret with stainless to work very, very, very slowly as it work hardens very, very, very easily. Sorry if this is granny sucking eggs time.

Yeah it seems to mille nicely, turn nicely but trying to drill it was realy difficult as the drill wouldn't go slow enough! No matter how slow you go things still seem to go blunt though...lol

Today I had a nice long chin wag with JonhK whilst collecting my block, top bloke couldn't be anymore helpful.

Ive started the final build now. *tongue*

I'll probably end up taking the plug cover off (weight saving) *laughing*

The manifold will be level with the cam cover when i finish trimming it down, Ive spent the last couple of hours re-positioning the turbo AGAIN and trimming the outer 2 pipes to fit. I seems to be spending hours cutting pipes and not getting very far! lol

1st pipe about 6 hours, second about 2, third about 3 and the last 2 days! *smiley*
I guess with all the adapting, rethinking, making adapters, bungs, welding etc. I guess nearly a week was gone...I think for my 2nd manifold I will need about half the time....would make some things total different now...

Thats good going!

Well 10 hours, 2 hacksaw blades, 1 file, a few metal splinters 6 cans of beer later this is my progress....

Made half of the collector for the outer pipes.

finally it clears the bulkhead! 8)
