Thanks for the replys, i'm working from above with at the moment. The studs are tacked on so I dont have to get a spanner on the back.

Ive jacked the downpipe up to hold it correctly against the turbo elbow, put the clamp (correct way up) on and tighten it up evenly and tight, release the jack and it wobbles about, not much but I would have thought it would need to be tight to actually seal!

Not much to update, but Coupe, you where right!!!

The clamp had "this way up" wrtten on it, but it wouldnt clamp up tight, flipped it up the other way and its solid now haha!!

But yeah the only real update is that i've got the downpipe and front pipe on now, waiting to fit the backbox but need to fit some hangers for it. Mounted the fuel pump but not wired it, Errm and Ben made me a crank sensor bracket too!

So I need to make mounts for the rad and i/c, sort out a top hose, run fuel lines, wire the pump and inertia switch, fuel pressure regulator, wire starter and megajolt and thats it I think!

Salutations!!

Good golly gosh i've had a tinker with the car for the first time in a while.

The exhausticle system is now fitted and super tight into the tunnel which im happy about:

So I dont need to do any jobs under the car now, it got plonked back onto the wheels.

Ben made me up some rad bottom mount bracketures, which are 90deg bent bits of steel bolted to the outer face of the front subframe, with turned down nylon bushes which accept the "pegs" that come off the bottom of the rad. So it sits in there nicely with good support, now the slacker needs to make me some upper rad braces and some for the intercooler aswell.

Gonna crack on and hopefully get the fuel lines in this weekend if I can find somewhere local that sells it. It's going to be run inside down the exhaust tunnel.

All thats left now is:

Fuel Lines
Fuel pump and inertia switch wiring
Megajolt mounting/wiring
Starter motor wiring
Dash wiring
Some coolant hoses
Wheel bearings, balljoints, trackrods etc

So not much left, I should get it done!!

:)

I REALLY like the look of them wheels! *tongue*

How much did it cost to get them powder coated?

You knows it!

Yeah they look wicked I think, I want to get some new carbon arches and sort some camber/ride height out before i'm happy! But I can see that when its done its gonna look pretty good!

Matty, i'm pretty lucky as Ben's dad kindly shotblasted them for me, then hooked me up getting them powdercoated aswell for £40!!

Id be guessing a price for normal industrial estate coaters but id say anywhere between £50-£100, providing you can get the wheels cleaned up prior.

Went to B&Q today and got some copper pipe for the fuel lines, 8mm ID 10 OD, 10m for £15 which I thought was pretty good:

Any idea where I can get these clips from in the shops:

Id get them online but want to do it tomorrow, I asked in B+Q but the reject couldnt fathom what I meant!!

Did a quick play on photoshop of how low I want the car, probably not possible or beneficial but I think it looks good haha:

Maplins sell plastic P-clips is they are ok with you. Iwent for them over the rubber and metal type because they're corrosion resistant (and lighter *happy*)

The microbore pipe is a good idea, I used braided hose the length of the car secured with decent P clips but I'm not happy with it and I don't think Mr MOT will be either. Those wheel would go well with a black paint job.

yeah im thinking black too :)

Thats reassuring then, i figured normal copper pipe would be ok as thats all it is when you buy "copper fuel line" haha. Gonna spray the floorpan tomorrow and run the lines methinks.
