KAPPA THE RAT SWEAR WORD! That guy was nothing but bad news. Anyway, we will see how Carl gets on tonight with the other manifold!
On 6th Oct, 2014 John said:
Haha! Indeed! The manifold came from Kappa then. From my snooping I suspect he got it off eBay a couple of years ago, someone was knocking out manifolds cheap saying they were mirage. The turbo well thats had a few owners lol! It was built by someone at CRturbo's who never used it then some guy used it on a 998 with a sidemount setup down devon way, then I bought it from him, then Matt Argent bought it off me for a friend of his, then he sold it and it eventually ended up in Kappa's hands, then Nick W bought it then you bought it! lol Like pass the parcel! Show's how many turbo projects get abandoned! They don't die, they just get faster! |

The inlet that we tried originally was so far off it never would have fitted, i have an mg metro one im going to try that i bought for my own car, so tbe one in the for sale will replace the mg inlet i have if it fits. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

On the topic of Kappa, I took a look at the doors he sold me last year, they have been in my garage the last year and I have just found that the window frames aren't actually welded on, just attached with filler. |

Word is that it's done! what an absolute pain in the bum! Just the fueling needs playing with to get it off the drive for the first time in over two months . I think we are both starting to feel hopeful again for the first time since we fired it up a few weeks ago!

Thank you but Carl has put so many hours and done so much hard work to even get this far. Haha almost time to relax! But we are already bickering about when an intercooler is going in . Carls booking the rolling road tomorrow for some time next week, time to stay quiet until it's done now . Most important thing is that I get to spend HOURS cleaning it and putting my dash back together so make him presentable again

It's the pipework! Looks awful! I've told Carl, when it's not my only car and I don't have to look at it every week to check the oil I'll put one in there is so much room to fit one inside the bay, no idea why people have them hanging out the front.

That bottom photo just shows how tight everything is in relation to each other, a mm makes a massive difference! You can even see ive had to grind down the cap heads to fit past the manifold. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Firstly there was a complete one across the inlet and exhaust, then it didn't seal properly and pulling the inlet ruined it, and i REALLY didn't want to take the exhaust manifold bolts out as that was a massive ballache, i removed the inlet parts of the gasket, and replaced with fresh portions from another gasket, so that each flange has it's own gasket. There's a black one across the exhausts, then a grey one which is the same as what came in the genuine rover large bore head gasket set that we got supplied wrong, but I'll keep as spare for my own engine Edited by Carlzilla on 7th Oct, 2014. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Well done! I reckon you could go pretty small diameter on the IC pipe work to make it less of a deal in the engine bay. I remember Turbo Dave did some calculations on optimal IC pipe size and it was quite small, more so on a 998. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:
