Something I've just noticed mark, are you fitting bumpstops? Not sure if you really need them or not when I was looking at my subframe today

Yeah will stick bump stops on.

So do I need one top and bottom?

Andy cheers, will let you know if I can't find the originals..

Any idea where I could get the spacers from? Checked the usual places but no luck.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Measure up what you need and I'll see what I have lieing round. Won't take much to wobble something up on the lathe.

Not had much spare time over the last month but managed to get a few hours garage time when I could.

Front suspension now sitting right with spacers etc and I now have a rolling shell, makes things a bit easier - also got it out in the day light for the first time since the respray.

Linkage and itbs now in place

Took much longer than expected to fit the bonnet and grill, but I'm happy with the panel gaps and fitment now.

Might start on the brakes next if I can decide what calipers to opt for.

Cheers Mark

that is looking good mark. I like the 11 slat grille as well; looks so much better than the common 9 slat cooper ones

Thanks fellas - any recommendations on callipers? Looking for 7.5's .. Minisport, mini spares or the more expensive specialist components mono blocks??

It looks ace, I was considering a MK3 look for mine with the 11 bar grille and the same bonnet badge, but my mind changes daily :)

Where did you get the grille, is it made with ally slats or is it the later stainless type they seem to sell now?

Did you dry build this all up already? It must be a nightmare surrounded with perfect paintwork while you work on it especially if you are still developing bits as you go. I manage to scratch and dent unpainted new panels

Cheers

Thanks, yeah I'm happy with how the mk3 styling is going.. I'm still not decided on my wheel and arch choice as I also keep changing my mind.

I dry built some but not all, so yeah it does take more patience than I possess as everything takes twice as long as it should!

Grille was actually an eBay find that I bought to see if I liked the 11 slat look - but it's a nice quality ally item so I'm using it in the final build. Tine will tell if it stands up to the elements.

Thanks Mark

This is going to be awesome Mark, did you keep the Jeeves off the last build?

This is exceptional Mark!

That install looks better than factory. Wish I had the abilities to do something like this.

This has single handedly restored my faith in quality 16v conversions.

In regards to your brake dilemma I would be tempted by the mono block. Look a little more refined than the current competitors.

Indeed! It's very factory looking but of course much neater again.
