The US is cheaper, but if you are only buying a short length, the postage cost is huge ~ £30.

I bought 1.5m from Ross for about £50 two years ago.

I thought shipment from US would be expensive so contacted trigger wheels.
They sell minimum length 2ft.
Only need about 10cm so that's a bit over the top.

Will have a look at OEM items see if I can find one that I can modify.

Yohan,

I've probably got a short piece spare - I couldn't bring myself to use the extruded stuff because it was just so heavy for a long fuel rail. Let me have a rummage around - If i have a short piece spare, then you just pay shipping and it's yours.

Dave,
Very kind of you!
I was already thinking of machining something myself like Paul did, not shure if special kind of Al would be needed.

Please do let me know if you find something.

Cheers,
Han

Made the end plates for the plenumdidleywhatsit this weekend. CAD, CAM, G-Code, jigs etc. Made a few cock-ups along the way but got the result we wanted in the end.

Last one in the jig:

Bosses now complete with inlet pipes :)

Used Durafix "Easyweld" for the first time. Very easy and would appear to be perfectly adequate for the job. Also a lot tidier than my tig welding.

Now waiting for a crate of bananas from the USA.

Did you have any problems with it running when your weld pool contacted your existing weld?

Seriously thinking about using Easyweld to fix the runners and end plates to the plenum. Could really do with carrying out a pressure test on a pipe joint, just to satisfy any concerns over the strength of the bond.

Just cut a 100mm joiner in half.

I need to put a bead on the plenum runners though. Bead rollers are too expensive, so looking at other ways of doing it.

It's good value if you want to do a lot of beads. I just need to do half a dozen.

Could you just buzz a line of weld round as a bead?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

On closer inspection, it looks like the formers are too big to fit inside a 35mm bore pipe, so it's actually a non-starter.

I can't weld a bead without destroying the pipe, I've tried :(

What I did with mine - which aren't welded at that similar point - is use an "O" ring, and a couple of grub screws.

The glue would be fine by me but I would add a grubscrew just for my own paranioa.....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
