Hey Man

Glad to see you got a job. It sucks sitting at home with no money. That ebay find is pretty good.

Good Luck.

i would go fuel injection. I started building a supercharger setup for suck through but kept hearing how bad the fuel economy was no matter how you drove it. So then i started building a blow through kit with boost control to try and get the economy back but this was all still carb based but the donor vehicle was to be my van and i didn't want to cut the front panel. I sort of got it close but money ran out so its all wraped up for maybe another day. It was based on the bini charger as i got one cheap. The injection suck through kits seem to have allot better economy over the carb.

The bini charger isn't the best one in the world, Sprinex and SC12 seem to be good to go for and we'll see how Apbellamy gose with his injection set uo :)

I know what you mean about the charger but the market got flooded with them years back and i got a delivery milage one for under £100. Now units from various cars come up that are more suited due to there physical size. Maybe one day i will revive the project i know im always going to have minis

Yeah I know there's aload out there I did have a look 2 weeks ago at bentley supercharger from the 1900's amazing bit of engineering for the time Nice car it was going on too.

and yeah man worth it if your not doing mega long miles Mines mainly for the loverly country roads and town roads round me SC just gives you the torque to come out the corners nicely as turbo would be little bit laggy and after driving my mates 1293 t3 it felt crap waiting for it but thats just me.

yeah the T3 is old technology now they boost quite late but with quite a kick. The new Gt17 etc range of turbos spool up quicker and are more ecconomical its much smoother.

Yeah I know I did tell him he needs to go for a more modern one but he said he likes this one, I just couldn't get on with it and plus I love the whine of a supercharger! *happy*

Hey guys, Right mini's in a bad way need a rear seat bulk head and boot floor better than patching, so gonna have to buy though panels unless i can find someone cutting a min i up for rear parcel self and seat back. But I'm not rushing mini any more its gonna be rebuilt properly I've got a car so just do my test and im good to drive.

Engine wise ditching 5 port head, ditching carbs, ditching sc12 setup. going for a 1060cc k100 8 valve engine Seen paul S gave up as the cost but its do able after seeing in mini mag issue 174 Darren woodhead has done one his spec sheet as follows

1060 cc A+ block
k100 8 valve twin cam head
gas flowed and ported
Dry decked
Running SC typhoon ECU
Bmw K throttle bodies
hypatec pistons
hasting rings
arp bolts
lighted and balaneced crank

All info I have but If anyone knows if this guy has a build thread let me know please! really intested in building an engine silmuar

Thanks
Stephen

Hey guys, Little update, Been buying star wars shit to replace stuff lost in the fire 2 years ago *indifferent* but Been getting stuff for mini too.

Picked this badboy from a guy on mini forum said it had good compression. Not sometimes helps if you torque the head down lol but DTI and measured it. its all good spec so standard engine for now

Can i run megajolt on standard 998 with a stage 1 kit?

Thanks
Stephen

You can, and I have the map from my stage one 998 that I'd had rolling roaded if you want? Might be a good place to start map wise.
