Sure the gt1752 is ample for 16 psi Brett BUT there's now room for a gt20 and already have a standard mg metro turbo exhaust manifold with damaged T3 sat in the spares box........ BOOOOOOOOST

Things are progressing well now, but got to drop both subbies to fit now lines unless I run them inside the mini.

May cut the lip off the rear seat if decide to do that but retain the door bins for storage of water and oil.

Some more progress made today, managed to fettle the turbobox a little more so should be a nice easy welding job tomorrow night.

Started to build up the engine and sort out all the bits that got removed before the trip to Yorkshire. Gearbox is fitted to the block and head studs installed ready for head to be fitted and torqued down with my grandads 1920's torque wrench.

Whats your thoughts on fitting the thermostat or sleeve, did find it ran really cool with the sleeve on the n/a so fitted a MPI thermostat.

Also thinking of drilling the bell housing and making it look like a piece of swiss cheese.

Was thinking that, already drilled a couple of holes in it just in case it ever stuck shut.

Will be getting a new MPI one for the build.

Will have to run the open bypass as this will feed the turbo core and heater.

Not decided how to mount the heater yet as still want the standard look inside the mini and dont want to have the heater pocking out, may remove the large fan and fit 2 smaller computer fans just for demist.

always preferred a stat my self after all the engine is designed and built to allow the best running at a temperature range to hot or cold and the clearances are wrong among other things
this is why im going to use an oil stat as well to help get the oil up to temp asap and hold at the proper temp required to "burn" off the water and other crap

edit: oil stat only removes the cooler from the loop until it gets to the rated temp setting say 90-110c or whatever then oil flows threw the cooler as needed to maintain a constant temp

Not much progress made this week up to now, managed to get the turbo box welded in.

Still got some more tidying up to do and paint.

Sprocket has kindly agreed to assist with the RTS clutch build so should be capable of running 16 psi with no clutch slip.

Hopefully will get an hour or two in the garage this weekend and get more of the engine completed and possibably rebuild and clean the HIF44, may even attempt to fit new fuel lines if the mood takes me.

I have an mpi heater in mine. I made up a bracket to hold it up at the back and re-drilled the mount at the front, pulling it forward a bit. I don't really notice it is sitting any different to normal to be honest

Some more progress made over last weekend and this one.
Engine is 90% built and started to mock up the turbo to allow the oil drain to be made and correct length oil feed.

Had some help for Frankie when working out the new manifold washers required, He even went and got his precision crayons to make a FAD (Frankie Aided Drawing) to be sent to Uncle Carl @ Force Racing.

Mines the BLUE one *Clapping*

Mini has also been stripped down ready to go back to the paint shop to get some bits touched up, its really looking in a poor state at the moment. But will be back to its former glory ready for MITP2014. Still some tidying up round the turbo box but sure Robbo can sort it.

Mini off to the paint shop next weekend so hopefully will be back at the start of march ready for the rebuild. Once the mini has gone for a week or so, this should give me some space to replicate the MPI fuel line out of 8mm copper pipe ready for its return.

Next main task is to get all the parts for the RTS over to Colin and tidy the bloody garage up.

Looking forward to getting it back on the the road in April.

Should be interesting to see what the bannana's and curly wurly's it produces compared to other GT1752's. Anything around the 160 bannana's mark and i'll be over the moon, but the final testt will be up against the other turbo mini in NWMC at MITP2014. Last year he got under the 16 sec 1/4 mile @ 10-12 psi so should demolish that with 16 psi.

Think he did 15.6 seconds so should be able to beat that.

My n/a did 16.83 so probably looking at 14's this year.

i was running mid 14s at 13-15psi, turning up the boost just lead to traction issues but looking back with the tire choice and large negative camber i used to run im not surprised

I'm looking at 16 psi, contrlled by a gizzmon boost controller so should be able to carm the spool time down if there is an issue with traction or just lower the duty cycle.

Probably going to run into the same issues as you Brett as running A008's and 1.5 negative bottom arms.
