right mot is up and the car needs some tweeking so last nite i set too.

had a leaky oil return and mani gasket. blowing downpipe and slipping clutch so the first thing was to pull the lump out.

got a list down to my feet of bits i want to sort. one of which is mod the bulkhead so i can have a air filter (yes i know foolish)

going to make a new downpipe, the pic will make that 1 clear

and lower the intercooler for better airflow

heres proggres from last nite and today

started on a new downpipe, im sure you can see why with the state of the old one.

hoping to have the down pipe fixed to the engine so that it can be dropped in attached then just bolt the rest up to that (HOPING)

Was it running to cool so you cut the blades down on that fan a little bit LOL

Pipe looks better now but don't forget its very tight passed and between the pot joint n the sub frame

Yeah, theres about 10mm between the pipe and pot, should be tight enough :-S

Mine is like yours, sleeve on the pot joint and my engine went in with turbo and downpipe attatched

Audi s4 b5 - 470bhp & 486ft lbs

1. What the hell happened with the oil? I pulled stuff out of a 850 engine that had not had an oil change in 40 years.

2. whats the water connection pipe at back of the block for :)?

Cheers, the oil just turnd to jelly. I concluded it was a bad batch of oil :-S

The water conection is for the turbo *smiley*

The addative in it could of broken down? did fine this online if it helps :)

Oil for engines has addatives in it :) to extend the life of the engine and stuff

all together up front now. got it started for the 1st time in around 2 months.

sound great with my new backbox. just got a damm blow on the middle brand on the maniflod, which sucks ass!!!!

Can i ask what coilovers are you running on the back because it looks really low. Ive got gaz lowered ones and its still not low enough on mine. Brilliant car by the way.
