That rear beam set up looks awesome! What kind of weight is your original set up? And when them turrets get welded up how do u get to the rear (seat back side) or is it all welded from arch side?

I've already welded both sides, except where I can't physically get. There's plenty of weld on the other side though. They are going no where. Maybe added 300g in welding wire and seam sealant.

Warwick.

Interesting how you have mounted the ARB.
Is it the KAD type? as I read it says use with conventional subframe mounting at the rear.
Having an ARB sat here thinking I wouldnt be able to use it on a similar arrangment. I might well have to pinch the mounting idea.

It's the KAD ARB, designed for beams only. It's sbout 400g lighter than the one that mounts of the rear of the subframe. It weighs 3kgs, but should earn its keep on the track.

I've always fancied one I these, but was always worried about how comfortable they are, but their actually spot on.

The only problem I have is it may end up being too big. As a part of the weight loss program, I've also put myself on slimming world. I'm hoping to go from 118kg to 85kg in 10months. I've already lost 1st10lb (11kg) in the last 7 weeks.

My end goal is car and driver below 600kg

Seat weighs 4.8kg, correction 6.3kg with pads. Advertised weight must be for smallest size.

Here a idea of the planned loses. I've actually weighed every part, nut & bolt as ive stript the car, so this should be a quite accurate, depending on actual weight of the replacements parts or how light I cant actually get things

I'm trying to aviod drilling holes where possible. I kind of want a stealth look, hence keeping the exterior as it is. I do plan on painting the carbon though and Possibly addding overrider bumpers.

All that genuine carbon fibre, you're only going to have the two front wheels touching the floor after installing this bad boy, the weight saving will make the back end float *hehe!*

Really, it only saves about 1.5kg. Doesn't even cover the extra weight of the turrets (1.5kg extra) and alloy brace bar (1kg). Included in my calculations I'm also adding a safety devices Harness Bar that going to add 5-6kg at the rear. I'm also planning on keeping the battery towards the passenger rear for the corner weights.

Nice rear end. I'm doing something very similar but with a Minispares ally beam.
Does the KAD beam only mount to the standard subframe fixings at either end of the heelboard?
Do they advise you to treat it at all?

Coilovers 1.8kg v Cone, Hi-low, Protech alloy damper 3.1kg each

Thanks very much for taking the time to list the various weights as it's so difficult to get anything reliable, even from the manufacturers.

The KAD rear disc setup weight is interesting at 3.2 Kg, I guess the 2.8 Kg they quote on their website doesn't include the bearing weight, I'm just under 4.0kg now for my 'Superfin' based set up so the discs still save a reasonable amount.

And the KAD Ally trailing arms are heavier than I thought they were going to be at 3.46 Kg, they don't quote a weight on the website anymore but I have an old KAD pdf brochure which quotes 2.94Kg but no idea what that was supposed to include, such as pin etc.

Nice scales by the way, I looked at this type but was a bit too expensive for me to justify but really useful to have the remote readout and the capacity of that unit.

Cheers

The new Kad beam as a lower profile cross section, ie doesn't move the wheel back in arch like the minispares beam. It is slightly heavier though as box section is re-enforced for the arm brackets. KAD told me I could have it annodised.

There is 6 addition mounts to the heel board. 4 run through the inner arm bracket, where the beam is solid. 2 in the middle. I'll get some pics up.
