im sure a na one will be fine after a search on here.

go ahead with mine matty.

do the flanges match the same thickness as the aftermarket na manifolds by the way? hope that makes sence!

Here are the two side by side. Why don't people use the NA manifolds as they seem to have a larger bore and are have a beak in the middle that can only help air flow?

How thick are the aftermarket inlets?

Almichie - they won't be too long now!

i think the flanges must be the same thickness as a a/n mg metro inlet manifold.

In the case they are about 2-3mm thinner. I can make up some stepped washers to sort the problem out though.

Whilst speaking to Nic, ive found out he's running the NA inlet so there is clearly no disadvantage of using them. *oh well*

I'll assume everyone is ok with using the NA manifold unless I hear otherwise?

I´m sitting with a standard n/a inlet manifold from minispares. The flanges are 8,0-8,1 mm thick.
Is that the flange thickness of the exhaust manifold?

The exhaust manifold is 10mm, but I can make up some stepped washers.

you cant use an N/A manifold with a standard cast t3 manifold as you cant get to the nuts, with ease,

but i used one with my mirage setup....

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Just looked at mine, the middle studs are hidden by the inlet, but grinding off the lower flange 'ears'would allow the inlet to be removed with the nuts backed off. Also I have a Minispares cast cover to cope with big rockers, and it just touches the manifold,so there is some butchery to be done with either inlet manifold, but no big deal.

I thought I'd give everyone an update!

They are taking a little longer than expected to make for 2 reasons.

1. My work have decided to make me cover break downs in Leeds which means 7-8 hours of driving every day and late finishes. :(
2. The manifolds need to be welded in 2 stages, and there is usually a few days to wait each time.

So far I have all the pipework done for the standard type, and 2 of the high flow pipework done. Im hoping to have half of them finished by the end of next week.

Apologies for the delay, I know a few of you are keen to get on with your builds.

Would anyone be interested in an oil return plate for the block a one for the turbo?

Im going to knock a pair up and see how much/long they take to make. Just seeing if there is any interest before I spend too much time on them.

Thanks for the update,Matt,I'm a bit stalled on the rest of the work,so would be happy to take one of the big manifolds when they're ready.

JT- The oil return plates are the one on the block, where the fuel pump used to be, and one on the turbo.

Yes to the oil return plates, as long as it'll fit the t2?!
