Well... after 12 months of having the engine back from the builder its ready to be dropped in this weekend... Still alot to do but dropping the engine in feels like one of those golden mile stones

Well... it has only taken me 3 years to get to this point. Yesterday I got the engine in the engine bay, its not bolted in yet as I was on my own but at least its in the general area!

I started lifting it in with the rad attached but decided to sack it off in fear of damaging the paintwork.

CHeers guys, much appreciated. Lsantos the wheel set was bought 2nd hand but you can still buy them from here http://www.minispares-online.co.uk/?cat_id...03&prod_id=3196

As for weight I am unsre, I may be able to weigh one but it will have a tyre on. I'll see what I can do.

If anyone wants to buy a brand new weber linkage see the for sale section, I bought it on Monday and fitted it tonight but it won't allow me to use the weber TPS I am using with the megajolt.

Couple of tiny updates... I picked up one of the most expensive items for the car since I started the whole project... and it was a bloody exhaust manifold! I'm working on the car today so more updates later.

In the mean time here are a couple of tiny things I've done. I had this alternator bracket cut from stainless steel by a client of mine who has an engineering company. The standard one wasn't long enough for the smaller alternator so I drew this up and saved the file as a CAD file and boom.

And these lower engine steadies, they are BMC green so the strongest available *wink*
The thing in the foreground is a BMC green towel.

I managed to get quite a lot done today, fitted the rocker cover, breathers and catch tank, tidied up a few odds and ends and cut a hole in the floor/heal board for the internal gear linkage, its in primer now so I'll show some photos when its painted.

Now I know what size the jubilee clips need to be I am going to order some stainless ones.

I managed to get a cinquecento rad in between the front panel and starter motor but decided to run a side rad for now. The only thing it touched was the flywheel housing which could have some shaved off.

The starter is made by WOSP and I got it from Bingley last year from H&H ignition. They were doing them for £125 delivered.

So... I am so bloody close with this it is untrue.

We spent all day on Saturday working on it, trying to get it ready for its MOT on Thursday.

The plan was to get it running but we didn't manage it :(

We had it turning over but the fuel pump pissed fuel all over the boot as one of the unions wasn't in tight enough... For the angle I needed the union to be facing it seemed that it wasn't screwed in far enough so it sprayed fuel out :

Then the waterpump was leaking as one of the bolts was slightly too long and was bottoming out on the inside of the block...

Still, it is very close. Hopefully it'll be running tomorrow night as I need to be able to drive it for its MOT on Thursday.
