Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

As per usual ive been taking my time.
ive begun the front subframe lightening process or as i like to call it hole saw attack. im not going to crazy on it, but every little helps.
ive repaired a few little hole on the body, but still havent tackled the sills, shortage of funds.
i did however pick up some builders trestles of the bay for £11 which have made great chassis stands and will be adapted to make a body spit.

yeah in my class most of the people are being sponsered by a company but as i'm not 19 yet i don't have to pay for this course yet so i jumped at the opportunity, everyone else has a mojor advantage being able to use it day in day out though, i do need to get a copy of some software, what do you use? i'm currently using autodesk auto cad 2010, i hate the new style toolbars though. *wink*

tell me about it im using solid edge at work and solidworks at home, the new interface is wank. i learnt autocad at college, cant understand why its still being taught when there are loads of great 3D packages cheap with very good drafting add-ons

don't know why they bother changing the toolbars, solid works is nice to work with, i would love to get the opportunity to study 3d, trying to get a career started now but its not easy.

its hit or miss really, if you use the software everyday you get pretty good. i dont have any qualifications in CAD just practice.

progress has been slow Andy, basically had to do exactly the same to the passenger side as i did to the drivers side, so inner and outer sill, rear floor to first groove and passengers foot well.
All the rot has been removed and panels ready to weld in. need to find some spare time to get it sorted.

Howdie all, before the weekend hadnt touched he car for a few weeks so i thought id crack on with it.
Ive rebuilt the passenger side subframe mount/heal board corner, the cross membere needed a small bit of patching, the wheel arch/bench bit. inner sill to first grove and patch the odd whole.
still loads to do but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel, should have the passenger foot well and outer sill on by the end of the week. then just the boot floor and ready for a respray.

Cheers Rob, yeah i whipped them up at work. didnt have a flare tool, but found a tapered steel spacer and a bit of tube worked a treat.

no go on the floor matty, was too hung over from your deadly 2 pack ring of fire lol.

As per usual progress has been snail pace. The passenger side is pretty much done, just got to wack the sill on. until i get the sill ive move on to the boot.
I got a bit carried away with the angle grinder and next thing i realised the boot floor had gone lol

Worlds lightest boot floor !!!!!

Im not sure yet what im going to do, either skin the hole over with a single sheet following the contours of the floor (as above), make a fiberglass floor with a slight recess or a curley one.

There is still loads of surface rust that needs cleaning up and the valance corner supports need removing, but getting the slowly.
