finally I have a small update on this. I have started on the wiring and have finalized making all the plumbing inside the car. Some of it is ready strapped to the shell, some of it not.

I have also mounted some other parts

and I have started work on a diffusor. This is just a dummy mounted raw item with no finishing yet.

Thanks, not sure you would say that if you saw the paint finish though, being a painter and all.

The paint really is not good at all, but I do not care, its a racer, and its bound to get worse than it is.

Yes i can understand that but if its been built by yourself (someone) that doesnt do it for a living then thats what impresses me.

Jesus, you could crash that into a tree at 100mph and just walk out with wiplash! Looking tip top as always.

thanks guys!

I would not have a wiplash though, as I will use a HANS device when racing :)

well, it has been a while now. I will probably update with some pictures during the next week. Time has been spent on wiring and brake lines, as well as sorting a spec for the engine.

I have also bought an Autronic SM3 ECU to control the new engine, it sports some rather nice boost control options, and is extremely clever in many ways.

The engine will still have the 300 degree inlet, 292 exhaust cam, 12:1 CR and be 1343 cc. What is different though, is a turbocharger, which will be sidemount, and that the engine will be run on E85 fuel.

The charger of choice is a COMPturbo unit, custom made for my engine. Normally they would specify the CT2 compressor housing, but they are actually thinking about using a CT3 compressor housing together with a custom impellor, as it is a generally better housing. Seems huge though!

I think you have e85 in uk as well. Its an ethanol mixed into regular fuel. Bit more than 100 octane, but less calorific value so needs afr of around 7:1

I have a pump right on my door step and had considered it just for the fun of it.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

looking superb, need to start thinking about getting my cage into the spare shell, just not enough hours in the day!!

those waterproof connectors are great, use them everywhere now, perfect for flipfronts and engine bays

a picture update.

The front end and bootlid is fitted, the fit is okay but not brilliant. I have used quick release pins in the boot hinges so I am easily able to remove it completely. I have also fitted one door and all the windows except for one rear quarter and the windscreen.

the suspension is also getting closer, it has not been trouble free to say the least.

and the wiring harness is 99% done

Quick update showing finished dash. There are still two loose wires in the back, those will go the brake switch, which I will mount when the brakes are set up.
