Progress!

After getting a bit of motivation from everyone at Avon I have gone spending. I have sorted:
Straight cut box
Front mounted (cinquicento) rad
Meziere WP136S water pump and adapters
Davis Craig water pump controller
Expansion tank
Breather catch tank
2 electric fans

The current plan is to get the cooling system sorted with the current engine in place and then get the new dash (ETB instruments) in with a new loom before the turbo motor is ready to go

Nice project Gary. I assume you're cutting the bulkhead away to allow room for the carb/plenum on the long manifold ?

Cheers Phil. It looks like it will fit with a BFH and possibly a hole in the bonnet for the dashpot. We're moving the engine about 15mm forward in the subframe to make a bit more room

I collected the gearbox on Sunday. I now have to order a second gear and diff for it. I have a 2.9FD on the way.

Surprisingly all my parts arrived very quickly. The catch tank, fans and expansion tank were all ebay specials and arrived in 2-3 days.

I odered my pump from Summit Racing which were incredibly fast. I ordered it last Thursday evening and it arrived this morning. Excellent service and I will use them again for beemer stuff.

All cooling system components have ~32mm fittings so the pipework should turn out quite tidy.

I've fitted the catch tank and modified a pre-engaged starter so that the solenoid is almost vertical which should free up some space for the rad. Next step is to fit my denso alt.

I also spent a shit load on the beemer so I'm broke for a while and won't have enough money to finish the turbo spending for about a month.

I'll stick up pics of my progress and parts tomorrow

Total cost of the order was $233 and my brother payed ~€50 in charges when the parcel was delivered. I'm not sure of the exact figure but I'll ask im when he gets home. Assuming it was exactly €50 (or $71 at current exchange rate). That's 30% of the goods value. I have no idea where that figure came from though as VAT is 21% here.

Maybe they mistakenly took the declared value as € instead of $. That would make sense since 50 is 21% of 233

Thanks to Paul for convincing me to get off my hole and do some work. We now have the 1100 running NA and sitting on the straight cut box with cross pin diff and 2.9FD.

I think I'm actually starting to not hate this car again. The orange diaphragm has a really nice weight and the twin 1.25" SUs are fuelling great. SC box sounds cool too.

I just ordered everything I need for my loom from VWP and I have all cooling parts. I should see some progress on those over new years

They are Zetec oil jets. The hole at the back is just for fixing it to the block. Then each jet has a hole (~8mm) where te main body of the jet sits. Then there is a small (~2mm) hole going into the oil gallery.
