I agree with everything said above - is that possible! - everyone has valid points and I would like a seperate class for twin cams as well.

Matt - good point one year they did count Sat times as well - much more useful, especially when one or two members have camers hanging round their necks on Sunday.

If Carling made Mini engines

whats the point making new rules when people ignore the 2 existing rules? forced induction and road legal.

the rules are not, any one thinking of going forced induction, or, anyone thinking of making there car road legal.

it doesnt matter if it wouldnt affect your 1/4mile time or not. a rule is a rule. if you dont comply with the rules then you are cheating. if you chose to tell people your car complies when it doesn't then your a cheat and a lier.

there are much faster fully road legal cars in D class than mine, so i know i dont stand a chance in winning. BUT i still enter the correct class for my car. people who enter the wrong class only do so as they are scared of the competition in the correct one and are bad losers.

To be fair to the scrutineers when I was running in A class (many years ago) somebody complained that my car (and Wil's) were no way in A class as they were too fast. The scrutineers found us and gave our cars and engines a good going over. Surprise surprise they were both legal, just fast.

So if you feel that a car is not eligible make a note of the number and go and see the scrutineers. I would advise talking to the owner of the car first, and maybe get a few fellow competitors to agree with you.

If you get into the is it an A series with a 16v head debate though don't expect a happy result.

I interpret he's saying that class-D is a non-nitrous class, so how will he fare against the rest of the valvers when no-one will (in theory) be allowed to run it...

i'm guessing the same but i think at MITP etc you can run gas? and i know a few of you are going to be using it to see what gains can be had. be interesting to see how much of an edge it gives!

from york i think it gave a fair bit higher trap speed carl? but not really a better time due to not hooking it all together for a run?

I didn't think Tom/carl had run gas in 2007? I might be wrong though - I'm not their DAD! LOL

yet I'm sure tom didn't as I thought Good GOD no gas lol.
One thing I'd like to just clear up, I've always been open I'm running a small 30 odd shot, of gas and at avon there was a debate about it but the class people let me run, (I know your not referring to me by the way Dave) I no it's sort of unfair but it's my way of going a little way towards my in some cases 200 kgs baggage lol. But imainly compete for my self, so mybe i should look for another class.

they were running it at some tests at york thats all, not at MITP or avon.

i was purely mentioning it to see what advantage they felt it had.

IIRC the quickest time is still with no gas, but the highest trap speed is with gas, so there is more to come i think

It's cos you drive your car well Nic lol, and get the best out of it time and time again.

tom and i have had time to anal- ise data from the outing we've done with Don,
and the bottom line is the tyres were all but shot,
Tom assures me his attempts at launching by differing methods made almost no difference to the 60 ft times,

so new rubber will go on and we will start again at easter,

Id class jim and tom as good friends and enjoy the whole thing for the fun aspect and dont really care where i come just as long as i keep running quicker times than the previous year
