Not sure I will get six in, but two is fine for me. The garage is now slowly filling up with boxes as I start to move things from the old garage.

Nope. I am currently trying to get my road mini back on the road, which is nearly done. Then back onto the race car. I have been continually collecting parts so plenty should start happening over the next few months.

Well after what seems like ages I have finally started work on the TT3-BS. Lots of excuses for not getting on with it, but lets ignore those. With the TT2-7P now in full swing I have inherited the old engine and head, all I need now is the gearbox and all the main parts are in place. Basically I need to finish off the shell and bolt up all the bits, simple.

Anyway here are a couple of picture of what I have done this weekend to get me started. The hillclimb and sprint rules state that the unitary construction between hub centres must remain so I have made some false half wings to sit under the GRP front to satisfy them. Next job involves lots of sanding and learning how to spray.....

Looking good, why is it that you need to have the false wings if you have a composite front? also what does the 'BS' bit refer too?

Looks like some smart panel work on those false wings

I explain the false wings in the post. BS is short for 'Brown Streak', I just couldn't be arse writing it all the time and as the TT2 is now the TT2-7P it seemed to fit nicely.

Ahh yeah sorry about that, i should have read it properly. It makes sense, although thats a bit of a loop hole being allowed to do that.

the rules really are BS
they allow you to chop out a sizeable portion of the bulkhead , but make you fit some sharp edged protruding ends of panels , don't know why they don't just make people add ballast equivalent to those jagged wing extensions [ even if just for safety reasons ]
ok rant over -
keep up the good work , gonna be nice when done

You are allowed to remove metal between the wheel centres for induction, so the bulkhead can be modified for the turbo. I agree it is silly adding the wings, but it is less hassel to have them than argue the point every event. Even with the wings the minis are much lighter than everything else out there.

Arc angels front? looks identical to the one ive got, except i have seperate a panels which ill bond on to keep the seam, it fits up to the body pretty nicely.
Looking good so far, and i think whilst im solid mounting my subframe to stiffen up the front a bit, ill be putting in some plates behind the mounts as youve done, or similar.

ahh, i was looking at the pattern for the holes at the bottom of the front, some have the bars moulded in like the steel front, mine was just a plain depressed area like the one you have. should hopefully be fitting mine this weekend after ive welded up a few areas of the brown crusty stuff.

Just a quick update. Most of the GRP is now fitted properly just needs a fettle here and there. The rest of the body is about the right shape just needs a final once over before priming. Then onto the spray job.

Just a quick update. I have been doing lots on the car, but nothing worth showing.

I didn't like the arches too much. I think that they are really designed for 10s. So I added a bit, on the front.

Glassing in the intercooler and radiator to the GRP front. Rad goes at the bottom!

Just this week I have rolled it over and cleaned and painted the floor.

Finally some progress that looks like progress.

Garage all sheeted out and ready for spraying

Body with primer. The first coat was an etch primer and the one you see is the second coat with filler primer.

Then I got on with the other bits.

All in all I am quite please. I made a few mistakes and there are a couple of runs, but that was mainly getting used to the gun and mask. Now it is on to flatting all the important bits back and then another coat of primer if needed before getting onto the colour next week end.

Finally got some colour on it. Crap photos, but you get the idea. I still have another coat to do on most of it and a few other bits like arches need doing. Nearly there though.
