Looking good andy, come on work a bit faster.

Bit unsure on the tank tho, not sure that it will hold fuel well.

a few pictures of my progress. there in no real order.

the front suspension has been dry built, and engine is back in so i can start mocking everything up.

i found the fault that most people have been finding with the coilover brackets, when the car is at my intended ride height the subframe is sitting on the brackets so i need to come up with something new there.

i have started sorting all the breathers in the head just need to get the pipes welded in.

i got a set of carls dry deck take offs so have modified the head to fit, and just need the silcon hose now.

i have bought a couple of srew caps from ebay, on for my petrol tank and one which was extended for my oil filler, crankcase breather, and a stant lever cap for my header tank. some KAD tower mounts and steering rack limiters.

A set of SPA design autoclaved carbon wing mirrors came up so ive got them now.

SC rear hubs, and SH eng. water pump take off!

i have settle on using the gt17, it should give me enough power to get use to driving a turbo'd car.

i have cut away the front wings to give clearance for the wheels, and have the arches nearly where i want them.

the steering column is getting there, i need to get on and order the materials as i know how long it needs to be now.

yep correct, i thought about what you said and it mad sence to go with the gt17.

manifold is a bit lacking, lol.

i need some more money to buy materials so i can get fabricating.

What you going to do for a manifold, a tubular one like mattys, or one out of schedule 10 like mine and Paul S's?

Also I just noticed the flower pot. PMSL.

going to go for a tubular one like mattys but im going to have the turbo "upwards" like yours.

flower pot=air filter
paint pot=header tank
spagetti tin=part of plenum

these are all obvious surely, lol..

the pot just happened to be the same size as the air filter im buying.

good stuff,

I'm starting to think my turbo might have been better mounted the otherway round like John K's.

lol matt i am a massive fan of pikey CAD.

id been looking at having my turbo that way round but there is less clearance that side of the subframe for the exhaust, unless it passes under the manifold?

I belive johns passes under the manifold,

with my down pipe i had to make it in two peices just to get it in and out the joint is a bit of a PITA to get at.

It could work upside down like Johns, the good thing is as long as you make the manifold so the turbo is as inline as possible to the ports you can fit it both way round. *wink*

I tried mine upside down but the turbo does sit stupidly close to my bonnet and I was worried about the paint bubbling. It still may bubble with the heat as it is though. Lol
