If thats the case i wouldnt bother putting any seam sealer back on

My car went all rusty where i would clean it and then it would sit in the garage all week. The water gets underneath the sealer and then goes rusty

Hmm yeah I may just leave it off then and keep an eye on it, ideally a dry garage would be best for it, so will push to get it stored properlly when its finished!!

Who needs seam sealer anyway? That weight youre putting on and you get dirty hands haha.

Mind you the wellers aren't exactly feather-weight, but I dont mind paying the price for them looking badass!!

Not any major progress recently, been lacking motivation and its chicken jalfreezing outside!!

Got a Forge piston type dump valve, but wanted to take it apart to see how it worked. Luckily I did because there was some horrbile cloudy watery type stuff which stank to high heaven inside of it, no idea what it was. A load of gunk and shite aswell! So now thats fitted and plumbed in with a vac hose:



As much as I didnt want to, I bought a backbox off P+L mini's. Its a 2" Fletcher type one. Minisport do them but only sell them with the front pipes, which wouldn't suit the maniflow downpipe I have.

Alas, one half of the swaged end on the back box has obviosuly been dropped on so its badly miss-shapen. Cant be bothered to contact p+l its not worth the hassle, easily fixed anyway.

Have to say though, the qaulity of this back box is wicked, really neat welds and it looks trick - hope it does the job!




Bought a maniflow turbo link pipe direct from maniflow, who where really helpfull. Could only get the whole system from Avonbar, and from Benross's advice I went for an alternative silencer. Still need to get some bolt on hangers for my subframe which is a pain as theyre around £10 each.

Also managed to get hold of a 2nd hand but never used Racetech boosticle gauge for cheap to match my oil pressure one, so now I have the two most important gauges I can keep my eye out for the others I need!!:



And, from a very usefull site (www.cbsonline.co.uk), I got one of these:



As I'm using a bottom hose made up of my own bends, I needed a way to plumb my header tank into the bottom hose, all this needed was a hose tail so thats done. You can also drill and tap the flats on it for water temp sensors and the like, pretty cool.

All that's left to do now:

Run Fuel Lines and plumb FPR
Mount/Wire Fuel Pump
Make a heatsink for EDIS and mount it
Get Ben to make me a VR bracket. (please!)
Wire the Megajolt
Wire the inertia starter
Make mounts for rad and intercooler
Balljoints/Wheelbearings/Bleeding
Make a bracket to mount the air filter on the brace bar.

Not alot really, just 0% motivation at the moment argh!! Got time off at christmas so SHOULD have it done by then. Hopefully it will work OK, but theres a few things im worried about :(

Yeah the 6mm is what I have on the wellers.

Got lots of time to work on the mini in the coming weeks, been laid off (thanks to the credit crunch!), so should hopefully be done sooner :( :)

Israeli forces are moving slowly into Gaza's most densely populated areas, reports say, as they continue air and ground attacks on Hamas militants.

Some reservists are in action on the ground, but the army denied escalating the war to a "third phase" - an all-out push on Gaza City and other towns.

Fewer air strikes were carried out overnight - 12 compared with as many as 60 on previous nights.

At least nine rockets or mortars were fired on Israel from Gaza.

Israeli spokesman Mark Regev said Hamas's military machine was taking "serious punishment" and Israel was "advancing towards the end game".

Reports suggest diplomatic efforts between Egypt and Hamas in Cairo are progressing.

After meeting Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Middle East Quartet envoy Tony Blair said elements were in place for a ceasefire agreement.

"I am hopeful we can put an agreement together but it's going to have to be worked on very hard and it's got to be credible," he told journalists.

Haha, done absolutely nothing to the car since last update really, literally all ive done is tried to fit the downpipe, failed once then covered the car up lol.

Got no motivation or cash for it at the moment, i'm getting worried the engine will seize with no fluids in it in this weather :S

Yeah I jacked the downpipe up to the tubby elbow so it was flush, put the clamp round it and did it up real tight, let the jack down and the downpipe had loads of play? So i dont know what the dealio is there!
