Nah, I'm sure he'll have several sets of pistons arrive anytime soon, given the amount - or amount of times - that they've been posted LOL!!!

i've had similar problems, It first started when i sent my block, crank and rods/pistons away to him in feb 2006 to get bored and reground etc...

After alot of messing about and being told he was waiting for replacement turbo blocks and cranks as mine where cracked/worn i recieved my machined parts in december 2006, yes 10 months later!! I also never recieved a turbo crank i just got a standard one but after the super long wait i wasnt going to send it back to get it changed. My parts also got lost in post which postoned them a little longer.

I then stupidly contacted him about a SC/CR gearbox and he offered me a reduced cost as my engine work had taken so long. I assumed the long wait wasnt a common occurence and he would rush my box so i paid him the £900 in the end of
march.

I am still waiting for my gearbox!! he told me over 7 weeks ago it was finished and ready to post! I emailed him a week ago asking for a refund if i did not recieve my 'built' box in the next week and got an email off him friday saying it was in the post so i will give it a few days or will be asking for a full refund OR a tracking number to trace where my gearbox is.

The problem with companies that are very late in doing work and delivering promised items is that they are generally the same with paying their bills.
They are expanding their business on old money and not current profit and as a result they may appear to be doing well but in reality they are one step away from serious financial difficulty.
Just think if all the people who have paid up front, over the last year, suddenly demanded their money back.
would the said company be able to continue.
If the said company were a limited company and it could not return the cash it would legally have to declare bankrupcy.
I am not saying this applies in the case of this post, but just be careful gents.
As good as some companies seem it's your hard earned cash at the end of the day.

Dave

Daniel_johno, Why did you send you engine all the way from Aberdeen to Morespeed?
Scotland has some perfectly capable general machine shops for rebore and crank work.

Dave

Because of his reputation as being one of the best machinists and engine builders plus my local shops are stupidly expensive (£25 a journal on crank) and werent too sure about dishing my pistons etc and since Morspeed has an off the shelf dished piston i went with him.

I figured a company specialising in minis would be better than a company that dealt with all engines but in future i think i will shop around local.
