Fair is fair. I have a pair of those towing eyes, and I researched them before buying them to find that they are the same fittings used on fall restraint systems on building roofs and such. They are infact high tensile and have a huge load capacity. Still not 100% happy with that I bought a pair to work with a towing strap.

You could say that the nylon strap is not up to the same job just by looking at it, but when you look at its specification, its more than up to the job

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Oh and I am not claiming moral rights as my own, its Turbo Minis as a collective.

I like how, between the lines, they suggest that they are the only ones selling the correct grade bolts with thier CMS, which if you read this topic on Turbo Minis, Minispares were probibly there before them *hehe!* Minispares just dont advertise the fact. Is there any real need?

If some of the members on TMF are naive enough to believe that only MRA Minis know what they are doing and MRA Minis are the only ones selling the correct items - as it would appear the way some have thrown their toys out of the cot over your comments - leave them to it, they get what they deserve :)

I'm only really surprised that he hasn't yet claimed to have written the SAE/ASTM and ISO grading standards himself, designed the head markings and patented it all.....

Old post I know but what do people torque the main bolts to? I have the stronger CAT ones. And is it ok to re use them?

Standard setting is 63ftlbs I believe. Should I just use standard?

Just a thought.

If your after a handfull of good Cap heads 12.9 grade, give trident race supplies at silverstone circuit a try.

They aiont cheap but they do carry a massive range of UNF/UNC as well as metric.

They also do AN and NAS bolts too.

The AN bolts may be a good choice for the main caps.

Holy thread excavation batman (credit to Vegard i think)

Mains bolts are they all the same size? i have seen them advertised as 2.5 and 2.75 long for standard caps? i assume the 3inch and over specified on this thread are for when centre main straps are fitted?
