Not sure how many of you use FB, but there's a possibility of a road legal semi slick tyre being put into production. Extreme Performance Tyres are asking about a suitable size people would like to see, if there's enough demand there's a chance we could have a decent tyre to suit 6-7" wide rims for the road.
185/60/10 anybody ?

The only catch....or perhaps positive with those, is those tyres are remoulds.

Which means they dont need to make a complete new tyre...but at the same time unless they can get carcasses to work with....it's kind of difficult to make anything

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Sound good to me! I have 7" splits. Would be great to get a better suited tyre.

That's a pretty commen size for trailers here. So carcasses wouldnt be a problem. Nice Size.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

The whole thing is a bit dubious but still it's positive that someones talking about it at long last.

Like I say on fb tho. Wider is better but lower profile too would be better better. Would be a whole lot more useful.

Would a lower profile look odd though?

Minis look odd driving in massive ballons. Imo! Having the 50 profiles transforms the look of them.

Oddly enough I was looking at this a while back and could be possible on a new tyre if there's enough genuine interest...

I'm genuinely interested. I'm sure everyone with 10x7 wheels would be?

I’d say there certainly is at the moment, wide 10” wheels are in vogue. And stretching a 165 onto a 6-7” wide rim isn’t ideal.

Maybe we should bombard yokohama with requests. TBH I can believe they havnt developed anything yet. In Japan the mk1 styling and 10 inch wheels have been the norm since forever..

Tried Yokohama years ago, no chance, they wont make anything in low volume...

It’s strange they moved into Mini’s at all? I 185 yoko ao32 would be perfect.

Doesn't look promising... Have you had a reply back Gav?

I assume there are having trouble finding a suitable carcass?
