My mini was rear ended last weekend so I've decided to call it a day and break it for spares. I'm not prepared to chuck any more money at it, so everything must go.

I'll get more details as requested but a quick spec to start things off as follows :

Benross built 1293cc engine and straight cut gearbox to his usual high standards. Quick spec off the top of my head, 1293cc, omega 10cc pistons, polished crank, phase 2 billet cam, vernier duplex, turbo oil pump, hc water pump, tapped and blanked oil galleries, clubman gearset, heavy duty diff bearings, 3.1 final drive, x pin diff, straight cut drop gears, RTS clutch, med ultralight verto flywheel, turbo phil head with 36x30 stainless valves, 1.5 roller rockers.

Megajolt setup and carb tuning done by John sleath as recommended by Steve. Made 145hp at 10psi. We had boost controller issues so left it running rich as we couldn't increase the boost, so then bought a new bleed valve and upped the boost to 15psi which made 160hp on my local rollers. That was more than enough to soil pants on the road and embarrass much more expensive performance cars.

Turbo wise it's running a GT17 on a matty high flow type manifold, with a matty downpipe, turbosmart external wastegate and screamer pipe.

Fueling is sorted by a metro turbo carb, which I had reconditioned by Leicester carburettor centre. External fuel pump supplies the fuel via a metro turbo rising rate fpr.

It's got a nic plenum, and a AH fabrications intercooler

As per the rest of the car it's the usual supporting mods, minisport 7.9 vented 4 pots, GAZ shocks all round, hi los, 2 degree bottom arms, adjustable tie bars, poly bushes throughout.

Interior wise there is a fully comprehensive dashboard with all the essential gauges, corbeau buckets, 4 point harnesses, and a 6 point full cage with an X, door bars, and harness bars (not pictured as not fitted)

Best bet is ill put some pictures up and let people comment or pm what they would like. I'd rather let the engine go complete, but if not then I will split into short engine, head, gearbox/diff, clutch/flywheel etc. I'd rather sell the turbo as a complete turbo setup too, as the manifold has been modified to allow fitment of the external wastegate setup and the turbo internal wastegate flap has been professionally welded up. See below for details.

Engine has covered approx 2500 miles since being built, along with the turbo after having a full refurbishment by midland turbo (also welded the wastegate flap shut). Clutch setup also 2500 miles, carb 2500 since a full strip and refurb. Suspension setup approx 4k miles old, along with the 4 pots brakes. Master cylinder is almost new as developed a leak from the seal.

Full megajolt setup also available with the map from this engine.

Also willing to do a full drop in turbo conversion with everything included, engine setup, turbo setup, fuel setup, intercooler setup if someone has deep pockets, but I know that's pretty unlikely .

Located in Leicester. Would prefer collection but can post smaller items.

Price wise, can't really state a price so I'll say full drop in turbo conversion with full engine and turbo setup including fuel tank pump etc £4500.

But everything has to go so comment / message in what you're after and I'll help as best I can.

Thanks for looking

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not entirely sure what to do with it to be honest, I was thinking if I get a lot of interest in the parts it'd make my mind up for me. Just been a never ending money pit over the years.

The shell isn't that bad to be honest, it's not touched the subframe, it's rippled the boot floor, and damaged the valance and lower rear panel. Trying to sort the pics now

I have to agree with Dave, let it sit for a moment, think about it real careful before you go this route. It doesn't sound to bad.
If you do decide to break it for spares I'd be interested in the RTS.
But really, don't do anything hasty

this springs to mind :)

doesn't look too bad but alas i know how it can be. only you know what is the right choice just do not rush these things. clearly a lot off effort has gone into it and be shame to lose it all for a lil in the rear action.

Was gonna say.... ^^^
Surely your going to get a payout from whoever smashed ya bottom in? Either splash the cash on it or just bash it out and use the money to 'heal' a bit of your wallet that youve put into it over the years so in theory it doesnt owe you so much?

If you do go ahead with the split I'm interested in the manifold and downpipe. Can they be used without the screamer pipe? Not sure how the external wastegate is plumbed in.
Cheers buddy

I remember that one back then... sounds a nightmare! Really was lucky! Lucky to get out.. lucky to be paid out a reasonable amount.. just gutting how little you had used it, And all them comments about no cage etc... and theres me not having a cage because of weight!

Again thanks for the kind replies. You're right, the damage isn't too bad, it's not touched the subframe or rear 1/4 panels etc, it is just the boot, valance, and rear panel. It's just as a lot of you have experienced in building these, it's been off the road for so long and had so much money thrown at it, and now it needs more time off the road, more money, I've just got to call it a day. It's been an amazing car to own and build, really has been, the look on people's faces when you take them out is priceless. Literally had a fully grown man crossing his arms on the harnesses screaming, haha, because of the acceleration. He really couldn't belive how it moved. And as for a payout, well it just happened to be my girlfriend who bumped me lol, so not going through insurance or anything like that

i would just bash it out the best i could to seal the boot get it looking ishhhh and as long as nothing is bent and drive the thing. you can't see the rear from driving it anyway and just fix it when cash permits.

wowzer gf, head for life!! :p

Well im sure you need to repay the favour to the girlfreind as keith lemon would say its her turn to get her back door smashed in .............

And if you have the energy left get the hammer on it

And surley its more work stripping it out to sell as parts than it is to replace the rear 1/4
