Its that time of the year again and I'm on the search for cover for the mini. I did search around a bit a couple of years ago and ended up with Flux for some reason or another; had quite a bit of issue actually finding someone who would insure a turbo. Last year I just renewed as I didn't have the time to look about and figure wasn't bad.

Renewal has come in at £115 fully comp with all mods declared, one fault claim, 6 points on my licence and 3 on the wifes, all for speeding.

So is it worth frustrating myself to try and get a better deal or do I just renew? Judging on the miles I do, Its going to cost me about £1/mile to insure!

any suggestions? could be interested in a group policy that would let me insure some of the other cars as well

HOW are you all getting such cheap insurance is what I want to know 😂
£115 would have insured my 205 1.8d about 9 times over!

Yeah, like 9 times the price of what it is to insure haha. I got a quote for it a while back. £3000 a year.. No thanks Adrian Flux!

Insurance just cheeses me off haha. My mini is about £600 with them and probably has twice the power of the pug. Plus it was half the price when I went from NA to turbo which seems odd but I suppose there isn't a great deal of turbo minis that have been in accidents/stolen compared to a little na 998.
I've had quotes for £700-800 off comparison websites for the pug but assumed a classic car policy would be better. Can't wait for my insurance to bottom out!

205 diesels have always been expensive to insure. All the insurance companies see is a 1.8 or 1.9 engine. Nevermind that they are slow as hell.

One of the very few benefits of getting old is cheap insurance - until you get even older of course.

When I turbo,d the A35 they added 50% to the premium and made it £70.

Oh and just to rub it in.
My standard 205 GTI 1.6 is £130 a year, my modified 205 GTI Mi16 is £150 a year.
