Well I have been on TM for some time now! Not as long as most! However I feel I have got sooooooooooooooooo much from here!

When I first came on here there was so much new stuff to read Daily, lots of new builds , lots of stuff been worked out , lots of trash chatting about why was best at what! And it was like everything was covered you just had to look and maybe reopen the page! Also there was always getting the ban hammer!!

When I go to shows I have a group of like minded geeks to stand and chat shit to for hrs, there is always someone there to help when I have fucked my car up!

It seems like now days it's gone very quiet on here, not sure why but I feel we need to up our game a little as we will lose what we had for ever I get blokes grow up and move on how ever there is soooooo much in the brains of these lads it would be a shame to lose it.

We have almost turned in to the f1 where no one shows what we have been up to, I get most have stuff they are not keen to show but that was always the fun of it!

I love reading about how others do things and what others think but i hate it when some one pushes an opinion
I mean when a question is asked that has a correct answer and a correct answer is given fair enough but when the answer is an opinion it should be given as that, too often i see on here opinions being pushed as fact and made out like its the only correct way of doing stuff.. is it bollox

I've noticed too, coming on regularly but i've made next to no progress on my cars to report anything.

Although we are all very open minded about the cars welcome on here, the name suggests its all about the turbo. I'm going to throw it out there and say any newby looking for a forum for his mini conversion is probably going to bypass us and i think that is the prime issue, lack of new members. I think Alex mentioned a yr or so back that there was only around 30 active members these days.

We all get busy with other things in life and have to take a backseat from time to time. I've seen plenty of good members come and go through the years on here.

Facebook groups seems to be slowly killing off forums, which is a shame as facebook groups are shite as an information repository.

Family life and prep for changes next year is taking all my time and money.

I hope to spend some time on the mini over Christmas and gt it ready for sale in the spring. No point having sat there doing nothing. Maybe I'll revisit in a few years.

I'm still here all the time. But the Mini has taken a back seat because of the single seater. Not posted much on that as I wasn't sure of the interest level.

Mini is due to be put back together next year.

Ive opened my own wee garage so my minis taken a back seat too however i dont feel its slowed on here tbo i dont think it was ever that nusy a forum but the posts are usualy quality over quantity. And will id love to hear more about any of your machenery

Well... simon.. i think your drink was a good thing as youve said whats probably on a lot of our minds! Atleast mine anyway!! Im on here first thing after my alarm in the morning, last thing before bed and about 3 times inbetween!... and thats only lately because of how quiet its been! Because before like u say when there was something new all the time it would be first thing, last thing and about 20 times inbetween! (Ask my mrs! She'll say how much im on my phone on here!) I used to miss a day come back on and there would be over 30 new topics to read.. lately i come on here and theres only 1 or 2 ( there was a day or 2 the other week where it said 0 new topics n i thought there was a problem!! ) it is sad but im just putting it down to christmas, colder weather, the dark etc... i havent seen my mini for weeks now... and thats only cos i was in a huff because pod wouldnt let me race because my new licence hadnt arrived yet! but it only means theres a list of new parts to swap.. things to get rid! Etc... hopefully everyones like me and will hit it hard when the lighter evenings are back and the hollidays are over.. im sure TMs still hugely alive! WE SHALL SEE WHEN IT COME TO OUR TM FINAL 'SHOWDOWN'

My thread I've tried to work on twice, but nothing worthwhile to put into it, hoping that now I have the cash I can get cracking! Just been accumulating parts over the years.

As said above, it is not just TM that is lacking the activity it used to have. Like many on here I also belong to other technical forums and they have similar problems.

too much shagging missuses and getting them up the stick!

I have neither the time or the money to do anything to mine. With a kid on the way it doesn't look like things will be getting better anytime soon ....
I think that we went through a bit of a bitching period on here a while back, I know for certain that put a few people off posting on here as much.
I think the classic Mini scene in general is dying a little. I look back at it when I first got into going to shows etc in 1999 and it was incredible, MITP was huge and the Mini40 celebrations at Silverstone were something else. I went to every MITP from 99 to 2013 but haven't bothered the last two years. It's just nothing like if used to be.
This forum has been fantastic, with some amazing knowledge and great folk. It's not often a day goes by that I don't visit. Let's hope the new year instills some new life into it. Long live TM !!

Too true about the mini scene in general... i have been to every mitp since i was 12.. and done every l2b since i passd my test.. alot has changed in the last decade!! Its not like it used to be at all!!! Even my mini club has gone to shit the last few years! And sadly i think itll just all go to pop next year in our 11th/12th year too.. ho hummm was good whilst it lasted

Hear every other day, I would like to see a show us yours for non mini builds, I will be re-building my R100 mid 2016 doing a 1.8 vvc turbo build. I have a baby on the way and will be buying a house too so not a massive amount of money or time with work.

I always rear through and re - read threads, it gave me some good ideas for what I'm building now (although just gathering parts, top end has been purchased now along with suspension parts)

A serious reality check there^😆

Ive tried to keep it light hearted on here in the past with an injection of humour, i tried to keep it in the right places but certain people didn't appreciate it. Im tired of all the bitching and im onto something non mini related at present, I have been fucking about with cars for a few years and will continue to do so -no matter what. Luckily ive made some great personal friends from here which means the forum is no longer of any use to me, but i will always hang around in the background like a bad smell lol
