Saw this on the MK1 forum and thought it was pretty impressive

A 99.8kg engine putting out 180bhp with 6 speeds + reverse could spice a few cars up. http://www.vetech.co.uk/hayabusa/

I'm sure it'll be over £10K but compared to a built 16V A-series it might not be a bad option.

Never mind the power, what's the torque figures?

No real use having 180hp if its at 13krpm, having to scream the engine everywhere.

Stick a turbo on it and that's a whole different ball game!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I can imagine this being awesome for a track car but being a PITA in a road car.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Would need to be, dare I say it, supercharged for that to make a nice tractable engine in a road car to gain torque back

But power delivery like that should offer excellent traction.

It's superb work no matter what though

actually the torque dosent look to bad on busa's, after all they are 1300cc, and are really more of a tourer than a sports bike, unike an R1

a quick google of poweer curves.... a series vs busa

not too bad, probably similar to a std 1275 low down, and pretty flat to silly revs

Smart Guy!

mainland europe near ze germans

I'm reasonably sure you can shift the powerband down quite a bit if you want to just by adding intake length and changing the exhaust manifold . Give up 20 bhp up top and not rev to 11 but 9000 still get >150 bhp and a quite a bit more down low.

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

Saw this at Bingley today. Starting at £11,600 excluding vat without the engine. The fitting kits are additional as well. Expensive bit of kit!

Definitely going to be a show piece more than a go piece for somebody then at that price!

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

100 lbft at 7400rpm. Doesn't seem much point when you can easily do that with an a series for £2k

Too right!

I guess I'm just not the target market but a £14K kit + between £1-3K engine + whatever someone's going to charge to build it is nuts.
