Looks like a good project. What are the engine plans? Not bad one to start with... Engine plan is to put standard 1275 A+ from mini mayfair in it, put the turbo on it, get it MOT'd. Drop the boost down drive it for one summer (hopefully it won't explode) and after that build a new engine with good spec on it. In Finland we have certain limitations when putting different engine in the car. First need to know which engine in car model is: - Largest volume, Cooper S, 1275GT, etc. - Most powerful, Cooper S After that you can choose the engine within the limitations of: 1275cc + 25% = 1593,75cc 76bhp + 20% = 91,2bhp So basically I can not throw in turbo metro unit as it has too much power. When adding turbo on an engine we have to have dyno sheet to proof the bhp figures on MOT. So basically getting lowest bhp version of A+ is a good thing, trying to get 91bhp with boost as high as possible. Then after MOT is passed, nobody is monitoring bhp, maybe boost pressure. So basically engine can be modified afterwards, as long as the boost pressure is the same on next MOT's. With old cars like mine, we don't need to think about emissions, which helps. I am babling too much... :) Stay tuned! 75' Mini special deluxe.

Why not take the ERA for reference. The Mini ERA had 94 hp (if I am correct) Or can't you reference younger car models that are basically the same? If it is the younger model that's technically similar, it can be used but not in this case. Earlier when I asked, they said that it can not be used because it is not same manufacturer as other minis, ERA turbo was produced by Engineering Research & Application Ltd. not Austin, Morris, BMC, BLMC, Rover and so on. On the other hand I heard a rumour that nowadays mini could be modified to match model ERA turbo, then it would really need to be match, I mean, body, suspension, cooling, brakes. This I have not confirmed yet. Maybe I don't even want to because of the brakes, brakes need to be taken from the model with highest power. This would mean to update to Metro turbo brakes but I want 10" wheels on my mini and I have cooper S brakes already. I hate the regulations but can't change them... 75' Mini special deluxe.

That makes (a bit of) sense... Nice car by the way, would make a nice sleeper! Yo-han, It sometimes does not make sense how it goes... Example, BMW my -95 540 and M5 are not categorized under same model range. VIN numbers are too far from each other. If putting more power on 540 you have to use 286hp of 540 as a starting point to get maximum power limit of 343,2hp, not M5 340hp -> 408hp. My friend is building 540 twin turbo at the moment, so it was easy example. Thanks, it WILL. On 21st Oct, 2015 Shauna said:

It's very well known I love a sleeper! Yeah, are these old photos? I'd put the IC behind the rad personally, it's a bit neater!

I'm intrigued with the injection setup. Sort of wet plenum, if you will. That is pretty much the way to call it. I thought to put complete injection and ignition system to it which I had lying around. It is LE-jetronic from 100hp engine. With this system I could not go with port injection so this is the way that it could work. Basically "shooting" to the air space inside plenum, creating a mixture, then sucking it into the cylinder. My friend has similar system in his opel and it works great on it, so I think I'll give it a go. 75' Mini special deluxe.
