I thought I'd share what ive been working on lately, as it may be of interest to some on here. As most people seem to be running bigger turbos than the GT17 and not wanting to fit bulkhead boxes, it makes sense to sort a manifold out! *smiley*

There is still a bit of work sorting out the final turbo position, but so far it is all looking like it will fit in nicely.

Yep, I've got the downpipe mocked up, this one is running a 2" downpipe (going on a 998), and has a V band fitment outlet so slightly different from the norm. There enough room to run a standard engine steady, and run either verto or pre verto clutch clutch slave positions.

Looks awesome. Will the turbo need to have a support to hold the weight of it?

My intention for my sidemount was to use a pair of rosejoint links from the wok so the turbo weight is supported, but it can still move slightly to allow for pipe expansion.

Yep I was looking as rose joints too for support. I've made a solid bracket for this to mount it directly to the wok to mock everything up but it definitely needs something flexible.

My local exhaust builders recommend rose jointed fixings for anything with long primaries and a turbo on the end.

What diameters and length did you go for in the end?

I've already started a second manifold, to design it around a more commonly used turbo, as this is a bit of a one off. It will more than likely be based around the T2 turbo flange, as that can be used for GT/T25/T28 and GT2056. And downpipes can be made to suit. I make the Renault 5 downpipes, so I have quite a few odd ball flanges now, for various turbos. Lol

Manifold complete...now for the downpipe. Im still weighing up whether to make the kits for the 2056 or stick with the GT series for the 17 or TD04? hmmm?

Have you considered making the straight horizontal from nr1 and centre sections with slip joints and spring retainers ? If the thing gets hot that might prevent cracking due to the expansion between the two hard mounted points there.

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system
