Extra gay though.... Mk2. Couldn't pass it up at £500. Weld the diff up and have some fun.

Nice i had to have a mk1 pop up lamps for the win and nah not welding the diff.

I had a mk1 - great car.

Plenty of upgrades avalible too.

I had a black mk1 with stupidly loud exhaust that exited out the sill, full cage and sparco buckets... i instantly thought i gotta have that when i saw it in the back of a friends workshop.. had some major fun with it BUT i did get the sh#t ripped out of me for driving a girls hairdressers car! And it IS! UNTIL you slam it on coilovers n put some lil fat wheels on it then they do look awesome!!! I had to get rid of mine because i then got with my partner who had a lil girl so i had to get summin with more seats so swapped it with a bmw 328 touring... Both cars i wished i still owned! Yours looks descent.. any plans?

Most folk who slag off MX5's have never driven one. Most folk who have driven one like them.

I am more suprised though as a newly passed driver that you can insure it?

But echoing Tom's comments, how did you manage to insure it? I bought mine last year and with one fault accident but two years no claims it was £2200 for the year!!

the wife had a mk2 a while back. performance lacked somewhat but we had a lot of fun touring round Europe in it and probably one of the only cars she would have back in the drop of a hat.

100% reliable and cost me nothing in repairs in the 5 years we owned it; 1 set of brakes, 1 set of tyres and a timingbelt kit. I spent less on it in the 5 years than the first service cost me on the TT that replaced it

To be fair in sured mine with 4 years no claims at 21 for 300 with all mods declared... And there were a lot of mods

Its fully comp with few extra's at £1818 for the year paying monthly so its not too bad.

a 1.6 is more expensive for me to insure than the 1.8 I Own
