What's people's opinions on the KAD rear disc conversation. I've heard a few issues with the hand brake not working as it should.

My current drum setup is 4.2kg, these will save me another 1.4kg each side.

What problems setting up. Handbrake or normal brakes. I'm thinking of losing the handbrake for a line lock anyway.

I wouldnt bother,

I put a set on thinking they would be less hassle than adjusting drums, but they kept draging and burning out pads.

stuck them on ebay and stuck minifins and alloy hubs on.

I'll have a look into making a set of these to see how they work, I was thinking of making alloy slave cylinders, this could work well with it. What kind of money would people pay for ally back plates, cylinders and adjuster mechanism?

I would defo have a set of slave cylinders the issue is the sizes people might want? I use the 1275 gt version that I'm not sure many people use.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Oh and removing the circlip and using a nut and anti vibration washer would be great!

Sounds like a good plan. I'd be interested in a pair. They weigh 0.85kg each in steel.

I've just purchased a set of these yesterday BTW:
http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperLis...ydra-Mechanical

I can't find much info about them, so just figure I need a pair in my hands to get a better feel of them.

Edit - bad link, try this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PAIR-WILWOOD-HYDRA...T-/271014679064

I would have a set. Defently like like the idea of loosing the circlip and using a nut on the pump.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

I had problems with the handbrake seals leaking around the mech but when I told them I had a line lock they blanked the handbrake mech off and rebuilt for free as they had redesigned the seals since. A pain to set up but once eventually set they've been alright

Any news on these Jim? I'd be interested in a lightweight drum setup too *smiley*

I'm pretty sure that there's a fair bit of weight to be saved on the hand brake linkages inside the drum if you replace them with drillium.
