I had an idea to reproduce a centre binnacle, and put it infront of the steering wheel.

But now I'm into it, I'm thinking of putting it in the middle, with an 80mm speedo, and a 52mm fuel and boost gauge.

Then doing a smaller version with an 80mm rev counter, and 52mm oil and water gauges.

Here's a mockup (a not very good one, I was in a rush!) of the sort of thing I'm thinking, what you reckon?

This is the sort of thing I was thinking of making, so there was two pods big and a small one

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

Yeah, I was going to do a raised section on the big one, like the big speedo. But then recess an 80mm gauge flush into it, to keep the look?

Ok, templated the binnacle and scaled it down to 66%.

Made a pattern. It's ready to rub down, paint, and mould. But I thought I'd see what it looked like first.

Fairly happy with that. On to moulding and making.

Made a mould, and have made a quick mockup to see how it all looks.

Just need to mount the gauges tomorrow

Edit: I hate the trim strip around the outside. I called in a favour, and he clearly didn't listen! Lucky I'm painting it black.

Gauges mounted in the pod, now to trim the pod, and fit in the dash.

Not sure really.

If I were to sell them, I suppose about £70.

That's not bad really considering the time you've put into it. The one I bought was £40? And it's literally a rectangle with rounded edges

I think it needs to be on an angle upwards.

Looks a little lost on that flat carbon panel. Agreed it definitely needs tilting upwards. Cracking dash though, really like this.
