1400cc 16v k series Metro Gti engine

I've got a 1400 k series which I believe is an early Gti lump. It's from a '93 Gti Spi which was broken for parts when the body was too rotten to salvage.

Intentions were to turbocharge it and slap it in the Metro Kensington I had. This would obviously result in a most brilliant sleeper. Evolution was having nearly 300hp from his similar setup. Evo would be the best person to confirm wether or not this is the correct engine or not.

This will include a turbo manifold, gearbox and original spi inlet, injector etc. Engine turns over and seems to be in good order. Please bear in mind that I've not run it myselft. Proce reflects this.

I've since sold the Metro and will never get round to doing this for another car (as much as I'd love to )
Cost me £150 for the lump plus £60 for he manifold. I'm Looking for £170 for it all. Make me an offer.

They did do a 1400 8v. But that was fitted to the Gta and made less power.

I think this is 115hp out of the box.

above engine.... cheap ECU, big intercooler, big turbo, 220hp...

more if you change the topcaps and put piston buttons in so you can spin it to 8k!!

I'm torn. I will be using a MGTF as a donor and pretty much the standard running gear to get it through the IVA. The world is my oyster after that. I can't help thinking KV6 and a big turbo though....

Could sit nicely in the metro if i wasn't so close to having all the bits ready for the a series build.......

Yes, with a lot of work on the subframe and as much metal removed from the front end as possible.

I've seen one fitted in a standard length roundnose. It sits quite far forward but fits.

He's currently rebuilding his engine as it seized. He ran a remote oil filter and had issues with kinked hoses....

I'm afraid that I'll not be able to fit this. As much as I'd love to see the A35 with more than 200hp :)

You will definitely see an A35 with well over 200 hp next year -just not mine.
