well saturday dawned bright and with the impending roasting weather beckoning ..
loafing in bed checking my favourite fori, i got a communication form simon mit the mk1 ,saying hes on the m4 heading my way !! DONT PANIC...i said to v , ansd we jumped up and ran around trying to get organised .
you can gauge our success at this by the fact that we forgot the hob the pans the bacon and eggs and the towels lol.

so in pops simon and we get gabbing and then washing cars and then polishing etc etc and generally get carried away until its 11 before we get going .

convoy!!!

hoonage up to avon , simon in the boot of my poor old overloaded spud , i get the feeling hes a bit eager to go racing ...oh yes.

waft up to the gates ,cough up dosh and find place to tentify , erections over ,simon hoons to scruteneering and we go walkabout ending up on the stands watching the madmk1 launch into what appears to be a wall of treacle !

yup , bit of a prob with the needle i think ,


every good launch is followed by the worlds biggest bog down and shambling stuttering stagger , like a sick sheep with the bad case of the bots !!

i jump in and we bat off round the country rds and find that whilst okish but well rich overall , after the gear change it goes off the scale rich and falls inot the bermuda triangle of richness. we lean it up in stages and it gets a bit better , watching the afr closely all the time.


time for another try , hmmm . still boggy but a bit better , and that was end of day .

evening is spent scoffing our stew heated by the nice ladies at the burger van , and chatting in the blimmen freezing cold oh yes did i mention i forgot my jumper or jacket ?


next day ,after a totally unlike pod like quiet night oh except for v pumping up her airbed at 3 in the morning,HONESTLY , thats what she was doing ,nothing else !!all totally innocent and above board ,sheesh you guys .

it was a little damp (oi!!no!!) and jason turned up at 10 in the caterham scalpel for a bit of hoonage .

then paul in the super super light sprint oh and bellers and david and loads oh and the brown one arrived in the evo , so a fair mob.

racing ensued , simon bogged again ,so we gave him a good whipping and told him to go out and floor it a bit more aggressively and that sorted it out.. in fact he managed a 2.1 60 ft !! barstard !!....sthen popped in a 13.9 when i wasnt looking ,

jason cracked the 2 s 60ft barrier with a 1.94 ,and all was well .

then mr terminator came in with the long face !!
oh no , another head gasket ...we wipped the plugs out and it looks like a no.1 cylinder jobby , maybe connected with this dry decking making no1 the hottest ? bit of needle and timing work i think .

jason had a good race with the brown streak neck and neck ,and carl snorted off a couple of 11s runs .

then the frantic clear up and off we went , a long day but a hoot .

I didn't go to Avon, but enjoyed the write up and pictures Robert, just like all the other write ups you have done.

great write up, sounds like a barrel of laughs where had by all.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

Its just my luck really lol. It drives ok like that but I am going to pull it today to see how bad it is.

Just run it until it blows up properly.

Thing is Andy if I swap a piston now it will be cheaper.. Than another head and maybe a gearbox and worst a block. So feel free to send me the cash if I blow it up properly.
