200 MPH with those aero dynamics, that's seriously impressive, actually it's pretty impressive with any aero dynamics. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

wow. 200mph? I wonder how parts of the granada hold up at those speeds. Wonder if the bonnet has additional bracing, or if he's had to add bracing to the grill (i know every granada I owned had broken grill tabs). Bonnet is a single skin kevlar, although I did bond some aluminium to it to brace it. That photo was from Race the Runway at Edinburgh airport in 2010. Speed would be less than 170mph, but not sure where the camera was. It really does get all shapes, and I'm amazed it hasnt blown off given the amount of times it has seen high speeds. It saved about 10-12kgs, but really wasnt worth it. Grill is well secured so it wont break ! Chassis is now held together with a rollcage....as I doubt it would have survived a few more years without one lol 9.85 @ 145mph

Is it a pleasant drive at Mach 3? Apart from an incident at the event where I did the 202mph, it is actually very stable and does inspire confidence. The track at Woodbridge was a tad slippy and it stepped out badly at 190mph one one run. That didnt inspire confidence ! And was the main reason I had a cage fitted afterwards. 9.85 @ 145mph

So what's under the bonnet to make a cube do 200mph? 6.3 supercharged LS2 sprinkled with pixie dust At least it's 6.3 now, it was 6.6 when I did the 202mph. I downsized last year to try and reduce torque a little. Edited by stevieturbo on 13th Oct, 2012. 9.85 @ 145mph

I downsized last year to try and reduce torque a little. Ha ha, bloody rub it in why don't you!!! Not really. A turbocharged engine relatively speaking would make even more torque than mine which was a main consideration when I chose the centrifugal blower. I didnt want that, which seems a shocking thing to say. That huge torque rush does feel great, but everyone also knows it's affect on the drivetrain and traction. So it looks great on paper, it even sounds great, but is it always that practical ? Not really, especially if traction is a problem. So the same would very much apply to a mini too. Which is why Ive also said before that a well setup high boost system where you mapped boost vs rpm or road eor gear etc could well create a much faster and more reliable car. So yes you may be able to generate say 30psi at 4000rpm....but is it always beneficial ? Maybe not. The power delivery of the CF blower is very user friendly, but it's still hard to tame it in the mid-range for the road given I want as much as possible at the top end. Engine size in this case will make no odds to top end power, but it would have an effect on mid-range torque At a low traction venue like Elvington, my fastest ever 1/4 times were with a thrown together 5.7 after I blew a previous 6.3 up. When Ive had the 6.3 and 6.6 at the same venue, it's always covered the 1/4 slower, albeit with slightly higher trap speeds At least that's the theory....it's still got too much mid-range lol Although Ive started using the BOV to dump boost to limit boost pressure in the lower gears to try and stay within the limits of traction available on the road One very surprising thing Ive noticed though. Doing this hasnt really affected acceleration times much, if anything it has hurt them a bit. But I guess it is safer due to having more traction available. When full boost is available there are huge traction issues, but strangely despite this say using 0-100 as a bench, it is still faster time wise. Ive no easy way of determining if it covers the ground faster either way though. 9.85 @ 145mph
