Re Opening my Project page now :) going to build a 998 turbo Supercharged.


Spec:
998 +00.40 dished pistons
Lightened, Shot peeded rods
lightened fly wheel
balenced crank
940 head
sw5 cam
standard rockers with fixed spacers
t2 turbo
standard box maybe x pin diff
standard drops
Intercooler

Sc12 or Eaton M45 Charger

Just a start :)

rear boot floor

valence (may go for Fibre glass one) or lighten the steel one

Is there no chance even a +80 would clean up the bores?

If it was me, I'd try and find an A+ 998 rather than spend money on some pistons and rebore.
But maybe I am wrong regarding availability of engines vs cost of machining in England.

In France, 998 are still rather widely available and machining is fookin' expensive like they give you your parts back machined and gold plated ...

Con rods are Circlip type yes, the pistons where fitted backwards aswell... and it had all new shells and that in it, But 1275 or new 998 (1060) and turbo it :) Insurance company said i can put turbo in a year after driving the mini on a N/a engine first and it put it up by £150 What is not bad and I work at an engineering company so Machine work isn't really that bad to be fair.

getting some work done soon :) as I get paid Thusday

+80 will blow holes in the block its been sleeved on cylinders 3 & 4 :(

So new block is in order and picked crank back up off my friend and he said its fine to use :) so that is a bonus

Had a heads up today, I can go see the all the parts that A friend of a Friend has sat in their garage :) All I know there is 3 engines in there so its all good.

Sleeved on two cylinders seems odd. Have you a photo of the insido of the block?

There are at least three different a+ 998 blocks, linered, non linered and oddball. You can only easily tell its origins from inside.

I can get a picture tonight when im back from college i recon mine is an odd ball it has 2 selved and 2 un selved cylinders but machine shop said just got with a 1293 be more power and alot more useable :)

Sorry about the joke but I understood in the beginning you were optimising what you had and now you're going big bore, it is a step but not in the same direction ...

Id love to K1100 Head with a turbo! I've seen them on the tube and on this forum they look so much more fun! :) so don't tempt me you lost have already lured me away from a 16 valve K series conversion..

Oh had few small panels turn up in the post today, doing a order again Friday can't wait

Did this have floating pin rods in it with the oil squirty hole on the big end?



Davo needs 1 rod to make complete a set. His donor engine had span a big end to the point of there being about 5mm of play between the rod and crank...

It has the circlip type pistons in it and the con rods are the standard fitments :) he's more than welcome to PM me and ill sort out with him

Right guys Not done anything on the mini at all but will be selling on some of my mini engine parts and also stuck between Supercharger and turbo now :( anyone like to show me a good route to go?

I'd go down the turbo route. You quite often hear of people fitting supercharges then going down the turbo route after more power, but never the other way around. *wink*
