So the clutch on the sprint is slipping. Its a verto with the strongest diphram I had (it's a pretty tough Veleo one).

If you're currently on organic, then a metallic plate will offer a lot more grip.

Well one Veleo is just about coping with a new plate and is ok on the foot. The RTS I made wit h2 Valoes was impossible to press, I admit that it needed fettling, but it was never going to be a nice pedal.

So the clutch on the sprint is slipping. Its a verto with the strongest diphram I had (it's a pretty tough Veleo one). So I have a couple of choices 1) persever with the RTS. I made one but two Veleos were just too much, and I don't have any other diaphrams. 2) Considering that the plate has lasted 12 months of abuse, try one of the sintered plates. My thinking is that the clutch has been fine so a slightly better material may solve the problem. My worry here is that the plate may not be user friendly, although it's pretty progressive in the TT. Also, is anyone else having trouble buying Old Elpaso Chilli Mix, there is none in North Yorkshire (and hasn't been for a few months), and the alternatives are just not as good. 1293 Turbo mini

I have a sintered plate in the hillclimber, obviously I don't us it on the road, but it's not an issue driving it around the paddock or on to the trailer (which need a progresive clutch).

Stag chilli isn't very good for you. It's generally our evening meals at Avon/MITP and results in a lot of toilet trips. That might be something to do with John adding half a bottle of insanity sauce though! On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

The problem with race cars is that there is very little give in anything, so any clutch seems sudden, as it should. But in the hillclimber we have one and it is fine, driving slowly around the paddock and to the start line it is not a problem. Add in a little extra rubber, engine mounts, engine steady, softer springs plus a heavier fly wheel that you have on a road car and bobs your knob. Probably a little less progressive, but perfectly driveable.

I stuck a 4-plate paddle in on Friday. It is a bit grabby, but not undriveable. I'll see how it goes over time.
