Finally got some paint thrown on my mini, had a friend do this design for me on the computer and have another friend who will be making the vinyl for me.
Next job is to start putting things back in, wiring loom first (oh joy).
Also need to buy a new carpet, has anyone ever bought one of the really cheap ones from huddersfield mini spares? I'm wondering what the quality is like.

Nice. What you need is a Speedwell rocker cover.

Are your bonnet stripes on wrong? The ends near the scuttle look like they should be the other way round

I keep thinking of painting my head yellow to match the old speedwell designs..

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

Well I've bought the deluxe carpet today, will fir it over the weekend along with the loom. I'm basically making up the designs as to how I would like my mini to look, not an exact replica but I can use the speedwell badges and logo to tie it all together nicely, plus anyone who doesnt know minis will think its something special LOL.
Wil I would love a speedwell rocker cover, you can buy the plates so may just end up with one of those stuck on the boxier style rocker..

Realised I haven't updated this for a while so thought I would put some more pictures up.
Still haven't touched the car since last year but been given a week off this month to crack on and hopefully get it road worthy.

Headlights are currently back out at the moment as I can't seem to switch between low and high beam, I end up with both *frown*

I wanted some yellow fog lights to go with the retro look but these were expensive so I made my own

Also started to get some more of the interior sorted so it looks like a real car.

With some help from a mate got the headlights, horn and hazards working.
Choke cable connected and new battery, started it up first time *smiley*
but the next day have lost all electrics, got 12v at the starter and 1.5 when i turn the ignition on... FUN *frown*

i didn't want to go with speedwell blue as i really like the white with black roof. I have some vinyl decals to go on the sides of the car and on the bonnet although I am in two minds now wether or not to put them on the bonnet, basically I just wanted a nice 70's looking racer with a modern twist. hence the old style number plate, mk1 grill (which will be getting moustaches when I remember which box i put them in, black mamba wheels, role cage and dash that look a little like a works dash but with all modern gauges and switchs. Speedwell was just a nice logo really to tie the car together as you don't often see it. Will look the business to anyone who doesn't know cars or minis, but to us lot it will just look like a few stickers LOL

Yeah I did a little research online then got some glass paint from hobbycraft and brushed it on, I did 2 coats leaving it 12 hours between coats but really should have left it 48 hours before doing the second as I started to get brushstrokes and finger prints in it, but you cant see unless you press your nose up to them. Will let you know how the paint holds up if I ever get my car on the road. Although the glass paint was only a fiver and I've hardly used any.

Ok so I haven't exactly been busy with my car since summer, it's too far away. Got a good engine to strip down and rebuild to keep me busy though.
Also some might remember I had a go at refurbing my wheels

, still got a couple of those to do as I've only been removing them one at a time.
Also built this at work

Hoping to get a good solid day on her this weekend. fingers crossed

Looking good, How wide are your mamba wheels or are you using them on spacers?

Look rather wide in the photos.

Keep up the good work.

6 inch but still on spacers. Wanted them as wide as I could. Hoping they will look a lot better on my new yokos too.
