heres a few pics of my (soon to be 1360 turbo) clubby estate, got it from ebay last year with 10 months mot, 4 months tax and a wrecked engine, not bad though for £800... or so i thought!

and the drivers floor...

then no drivers floor...

after a days welding...

and this is how she looks now

ill be picking up a 1360 engine on saturday, including a T2 turbo and other bits and bobs, i already have some used van sides which i plan to graft into the shell, i also plan to tubb the rear arches so i can slam it right down (but safely!) will be painting it in its original vermillion roange paint too, and hopefully it'll be running banded 10" rostyles if i can find another 3 to convert lol

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Looks like you've done a good job of repairing the floor/sill/inner wing.

I'd get rid of the over sills so that you can see what other horrors are there

im still gonna turn it into a van, i cant afford a real van as they go for stupid prices, even scrappers, and ive always wanted one! so this estate came along at the right price, and so did a cut and shut van shell, and i like the extra room in the engine bay *wink*

with the floor cut out originally before i welded it up, i looked down the entire length of the inner sill and there is no evidence of the old outter sill, so looks like its been done properly (i know its still an oversill, but hey, i got plenty of time before anything else rears its ugly head!)

i got 1 rostyle for free, when i bought a carbon fibre clubby bonnet for £40, and they just look damn cool, banded they will be even better! *happy*

picked up my engine on sat, turns out to be a MED built 1380... not bad for £250! its dirty, needs a clean but internally its perfect! will get some pics up soon, but i might hold out turbo'ing it for a while so i can figure out what turbo set up id like, and also start collecting parts for it!

i contacted MED for a build spec, and this is what i was sent in reply...

"Engine built in 1994 1380cc with 276 cam omega pistons rebuilt box modified head"

is the 276 cam any good?

yes but not really for turbo use, look at mg metro or 266

Get 28cc in the head, and measure what the volume is above the pistons to ensure the compression will be low enough.

I would personally see how the car drives with that cam and a turbo to be honest. I had a 276 cam in an n/a engine and reckon it would go well with a turbo motor, all be it a little laggy.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

looks a good find for the money .... these are rare now!

iam not a fan of the 276 in blown motor sort of fizzles out at the top end, but at the bottom and mid range should be a stormer, you may consider, retarding the cam timing say 2degrees to 112 this would help things

Regarding the 276 cam: I think there is somebody on here with a burgundy clubbie, 1380cc , turbo, 276 cam if my memory is correct. A bit different from the norm, but it reportedly made good power at less boost than some other engines.

definitley something to consider! gonna concerntrate on the body work for the next few days, get that up to scratch, finish all the weldin, got the rear beam to fit next weekend, waiting on my coil overs to arrive, went for spax straight mounted ones, would turret the arches this weekend but need to know the diameter of the springs before i start cutting and welding! got the passenger floor, a-panel, scuttle closing panel, dor post, wing repairs etc etc, should keep me busy for the next 2 days!
