hey all, as promissed about 2 months ago, lol pics of my progress...

this is al being odne at a bodyshop a few miles form me (but feeble passes it every day nearly so i get updates and pics form him, lol

they were taken a couple of days ago, the roof is now shiny black and the body in white primer not long left then!!! just need to finish saving the pennys for the engine finished, lol

got it back today i forgot howmuch fun them 1 litres are
it looks greta i am verry happy with the resault and cost less than the quote how much good news can you get in 1 day?
pics to follow, decorating atm tho so cant find anything including the camera, obviusly. lol
anyway! pics will be here soon and the old 1040 is coming out tomorrow:)

Can I ask how much it came to pot_dan? Did they do the prep as well?

hey dave, yes they did all the prep, i drove the car in primer for 7 months (as an everyday car i needed to) then they took it all back to metal took all fitting etc off then welded the new front end on inc new inner wings etc new door hinges and respray inc all prep.

he quoted me ?1000 but when i colectd the car he only wanted ?900 and said he was sure and was happy to do it for 900 i was verry pleased to say the least.
cant wait to get my new engine in now

WELL its been back about 2 weeks now i drove it with the 1 litre for a week then a hose split so i took the engine out lol pics are:..









and my new engine!



i am verry verry happy with the result and the bonnet is just rested on there so no comments there please and that really is the reflection in the pain on my door hehe the whole car is like that it looks soo good now but needs finishing off with some chrome etc took the grill off when taking the engine out etc and have hi-los to go on etc:)
i just cant wait to finsh the engine end get it in i only got it yesterday tho so lots of work to do yet:)

oh sorry lanxter the alloys are 13x5.5" but will be sapped for 13x7" minilights later on in the year i think.

looks good, get busy with the waxoyl to keep it that way, especially under front wings/a panels/front panel

B16 you scared the crap out of me!!! lol my heart honestly stoped lol

yeha top i am yet to invest ina biig can of waxoil :) but it will be soon
it is nice to be able to say my mini has not one bit of rust on it hehe

its getting a little rough around the edges now and will be rebuilt before next summer, just cant decide whether or not to get through another mot just to get through summer.

good and bad comments all taken.
i can take constructive critisism. but theres still a million and one things to do before it can be considerd "finished"

thanks for the replys. yeah its feebles going vtec, the green one in the pics..

mines coming off the road now as something broke last night! something to do with the gearbox but i am not sure what yet.. it lasted 2 weeks lol. but i am not too upset, the mot is up tomorrow so it has just decided that the FULL rebuild is getting done right now.. watch this space for begining of next summer when she should be perfect :)

plans are to rebuild and respray, the same as it is but to a much hgher standard. considering 1.6 vauxhall engine with a turbo but i am undecided yet. a lot more research to be done before i decide for sure..

what wheels were on it when it was in the spray shop?

i dont know what they were called but they were 13x5.5" i sold them when i got these i have no idea what i got for them. lol
