I love Mk3 Astra's. I think they still cut it with todays modern looks. The last one i had was the yellow 'sport' estate. I wish now that i'd never got rid of it. |

You should have just bought a TDS with the 1.7 isuzu engine. Lots of fun to be had with them and you keep your fuel economy.

Blinding project btw, absolutley love it.... is there any benefit in using a 1.6 mpi cylinder head on the 1.4 block?? pm me if so.... I currently have my parents old 1.4mpi mk3 astra in vaux pink/red. ticked over to 140000 the other day and its still on its original clutch!!! absolutely cracking little car, still not quite as good as my old estate tho...... seriously love that, its sits in the yard at work and somehow i cant quite bring myself to scrap it....... And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

I,ll be interested to hear how you get on with DVLA when it comes to letting them know you have reduced engine size and expect to get a lower rate of VED - they are getting very funny about this now. |

not pretty but ,functional , created a elbow from the old cast piece ,which was pointing at the rad originally ,now goes nicely under the cuttout in the sump . not quite sure what the cast bit was made of ,seemed to weld ok ,but was a bit dusty on grinding ,so it may all just fall off .....now that would be noisy!
