its going to undergo a rather major change. the rear is going on to coil overs rather then the odd single leaf spring.

Think im to young for the STOP THIEF referance.

Poor car has been in a garage since 1978 but is in rather good condition for its age. the doors are really bad but the body is fairly solid. I'll keep you posted.

Little update.
Engine is out bluck head is stripped little bit of welding to do. The front valance needs to be removed bit all the bolts holding are stuck so my friend the grinder will be required.
On to think about engine choices. Has been put forward to use a 4 cyclinder BMW engine and gearbox, I'm struggerlong to find much info where as the zetec mt75 route is more known.
Any idea or if some has a engine they want shot off let me know.

I have a complete 2.0 Sri Vectra if you are interested 95k on it starts runs and no smoke or funny noises. I might be a little far away for you but it is here if you want it. It is an ecotec engine. Not so revvy as a redtop but good torque.

If it is any help I also have a friend with a large stock of Manta bits! An 1800 manta box will prettymuch fit straight on to the vectra engine

I'm sure a old BMW 6 would fit but th lenght might be a problem. Have to have space for the sump to clear the rack so it has to sit back in the engine bay. Allwould make he gearbox sit to far back.

I'd not thought about a vauxhall lump, though Aberdeen might be abit of a treck thanks for the offer.
It's a new route to look down.

2jz, the ge ( non turbo) supra guys cant give them away fast enough and there is many many guys pushing 500 on stock internals 700 if you get the gte (turbo block) 1000 is in reach, make a super sleeper

having said thet 1jz are cheep, w58 box is cheap (5spd mkIII supe) and the w58 will take 500 bhp stock

damn i want a bigger engine bay and a 6pot jz......ZZzzZZzzZZzz*happy*

edit, what about nissan sr20?, mazda mx5 the b6 is a very capable engine, a friend of mine has a full 300horses out of a b6 in a 323gtx
s2000's k20vtec, baby skylines rb20? or rb25/26?

damn damn..

The idea is to take the body off the frame mount the engine and gear box and basicly drop the body over the top, nip and tuck the bits that don't fit.
I was thinking about mounting the rad to the bonnet but it would have to have slack in the hoses to pull forward when it hindges up which might course problems. But would give more engine space

I think that an alfa twincam would go very well in this,
it can take a turbo a la 75 1.8 turbo,
it is very light,
and ulmost not destructible.
Then not common

What about an S14 200sx engine, perfect and 200 bananas out of the box.

well if you fancy helping with the welding? lol
lots and lots of welding to do. Im going to repair the body first welding afew cross bars to strenghtern it before removing it from the chassis so it doesn't twist whist off.
