Well after last year, I decided on some winter mods.. The valve guides were shot, and the engine could do with a better cam.. so the engine was pulled and the head sent to Turbo phil for new guides and some porting. Phil found an issue with the exhaust valves as morspeed had put 1275 inlets in...

So after having some 29 mm valves turned down to 27.3mm, I also decided to replace ll of the inlet valves to, so they are all stainless. i also got some of those MRA stem seals, new valve guides and look what I got back.. The springs are shimmed and I will also shim the rockers.

A big thanks to Turbo Phil for his hard work.

Alos after some help from Wil_H (thanks for the pics) and Gavin at minispares I've stuck a rear anti roll bar on the car. the mini spares adjustable type as I couldn't get the fixed type to fit. The minispares instructions could do with a couple of pics.

i went for the ARB after positive results from cars running hydro so will see what its like

Paul: - I'm a green man two just liked the idea of a speedwell theme as per my supercharged stickers.

TurboTom: Yep its a 295.. PM Turbo Phil for rates I thought it was great value.

Advantage: yep still supercharged, I went for a 266 in the end as I couldn't get the Vmax supercharged cam in the drive I wanted..

Its great to get the car back together, I just hope the valves miss the block with the new cam... Hopefully ready for the Snowdon classic scatter.

Well 12 months on the Snowdon Scatter is approaching and the winter upgrades have been completed...

Done some setup with the simple Water injection system. used a .70 jet and switched the pump and solinoid on at 5PSI. We stuck some temp strips onto the charger and the inlet manifold:

Charger body temp
No-WI = 40C
WI = 34C

Inlet manifold body temp (After Charger)
No WI = 62C!
WI = 45C

I know it would be better to have a temp sender but I dont have a boss in my manifold so the sticky things was the best we could do.

I haven't changed the map advance to take advantage of the inlet temp and I'm using straight water.

A good days work.

Well some of the upgrades haven't been unto the job the changed from the rubber cross joints to the qh needle roller style this jan and managed to shatter ne pulling away from the lights today, and I was only going very slow. Parts just don't seem t be made of the good stuff these days..

I would if you didn't have to pull the diff out... To much unknown about pulling them apart and putting them back together.. Going back to the rubber joint for 2011

Great work on the water injection, sounds like it made a good improvement, especially on the inlet. Is there a possibility of some pics?

Well I stripped the joints off, only some scraping to the gearbox casing so good news there. The "good" joint on the other side looks like the metal inserts were pulling out of the nylon cups.

New rubber joints ordered from minispares... One day maybe a set of hardy spicers.

Looks like the water injection made a decent improvement to the itake temps. I take it it was a home made setup ?

Yep phil a home brew, vdo washer pump and .70 jet, and LPG solenoid, all switched at 5 psi. I use a simple 1l washer bottle.
It's injected just before the rotors.

Seems to do a good job. Running 100% water wil empty it during winter

I'll also undo the wiring as your washer pump will die if running dry time and again.
Or maybe you have a switch ?

It's similar to this one, just drilled a hole close to th bottom of the tank and used it inline of the negative switched by the megajolt. Seems to work.
