Had an email from a place I have bought widebands from in the USA, they are offering the AEM wideband kits for $207, or approx £125.

Making it 2 widebands for £250, not bad if anyone is seriously considering following Paul and Rod down the port injection route.

Fancy setting up a group buy Tom? I'd be in for at least one!

I need three widebands, so this is interesting.

However, didn't someone, maybe TD, say that the logging capabilities of the AEM gauge were a bit limited?

Otherwise it's £600 on LC-1s.

With the MS logging, do you really need the logging capabilities?

We don't have any pins left to add the second wideband to the MS :(

With the LC-1s we can send 0-5v to the MS, feed a gauge and log using the serial connection.

We wont be logging with the innovate software if all goes to plan. Aslong as the AEM jobbies have at least two 0-5v outputs we'll be fine :)

Edit: oops forgot the AEM had a built in gauge so we'll only need one 0-5v output which they have *happy*

Oh, I forgot, he's got some datalogging gizmo sorted.

Better investigate AEM then.

we need to log rpm, map, mat at the same time so can't use hyperterminal, plus i'm far to much of a geek to settle for that!

I'm working on a board that will add 8 analog channels, 4 VR inputs, some PWM outputs and digital I/Os to the MS. All the data will be in the MS data log and the 2 boards are connected via the CAN bus. So that would take care of the data logging issue.

That sounds very interesting.

Do you need any help testing? *happy*

Yes you can. You may not have any spare DB37 pins but you could either use another connector or simply run wires out of the box. And the plan is to have the board fit under the main MS board (which would mean simply running the CAN wires between the boards) or in its own external box.

There's a post about it here: http://www.msextra.com/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=31893.

We would just have to move the inputs/outputs on SPR1 & 2 to get CAN working.

All that is missing is a memory card so that we don't have to carry the laptop up the strip.

The AEM looks like it will do the job.

All you youngsters taking the P*** *happy*

It really isn't that difficult.

The widebands Tom suggests are a good price if someone wanted to do a Group Buy and minimise import charges/VAT/handling etc.

Not for me, I've already gone down the TechEdge route with dual wideband, but the more who are intersted in this, the better.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I thought it was supposed to be the young guys who were into hi-tech stuff. Or is geekhood skipping a generation? *happy*
