Slightly OT, but is there any way of tracing who was where in the army in WW2, like any records? I know my grandad was in North Africa and then Sicily then further into Europe as the invasion advanced but he won't talk about the war, I respect that but I would like to know more about it. Jay. you need to go to www.ww2talk.com and register if you can find out his regiment or even his service number (he may even still have his AB64) i can do the rest........... North Africa then sicily then onto Italy sounds like my grandad he later transfered from 5th Div to 46th Div Kings own Yorkshire Light Infantry AB 64 looks like this it will contain his service number and regiment. does your grandad say anything at all ie what he did ? perhaps talk about this thread to him you never know ?! i found a carrier driver / owner in Lowestoft who's grandfather was in my grandfathers platoon, how freaky is that ! here is grandads lot landing at Salerno 1943 46th Div here is the regiment photo CPL Jack Hindle is seen half way along the formation facing the camera (stood back from the line) my grandad is stood next to the Sgt in the foreground and here is a photo given to Shaun (the lad i met) by his grandad Cpl Hindle........my grandad is stood on the left ! Jack is the reme mechanic in the overalls on the right and to complete the circle here is Shaun teaching me to drive his carrier... two blokes two ends of the country both 3rd generation of RSF vet's both own carriers in memory of their prospective grandfathers... Richie thanks for the info, I will check it out. The 1940's was a scary time to be alive if you were a coward like me! As far as I know my grandad enlisted at 16, he lied about his age and when they found out they still took him on. He has never spoke much about it to anyone, not even my grandmother, he only has his bayonet and some medals to show for it.

yes i had to reign myself back in as there is oodles of room for a charger in the engine bay, but as it is like driving a mini turbo over marbles as it is, i better leave it as it be power wise. 94 bhp will do.

Youd have to be careful with stainless. It work hardens. So if its in compression then tension then compression for a bit itll get harder then break.
