"fast road" 1293 turbo project

Hi

I took my car off the road earlier this year to sort out some bodywork issues, and got carried away and decided to turbo the 1293. I've had a project thread going since I started the work, so if you fancy taking a look, here is a link!

yeah, I agree, think its a bit petty to be honest, because we are all mini fans at the end of the day, wether turbo or not. I'll not bother updating on here tbh.

mate, i havent decided against you lot, i just decided not to update the project bit, cos as said, its pretty pointless without pics.

As said before, I think the people on here are great, every question or queery have been answered, sorry if people got the wrong idea about me saying i'll not update on here, i meant the project bit, but if i can get a link to photobucket to work, then thats a bonus

if you're putting the IMG code into your updsates on TMF then it will be exactly the same on here and we will all be able to see the pictures whichever forum we're on

thats exactly what I was doing, I think i will do what theimage said, and copy and paste my updates that i do in the future onto here, with the IMG codes. the only thing with doing that is you wont really know any background as to whats been done, or going to be done. thanks for the help stefaz.

so what is your planned spec then?

would like to keep it fairly reliable, a power increase to around 130-140 ?? if thats realistic? I've put metro 4 pots on, and its already got hi-los, spax dampers, neg camber arms etc on it. the rest of the car is well under way, the interior is about done, stripped out rear, buckets and harnesses up front. Its going to have a little bodywork done, 2 front wings, 2 A panels, 2 doorskins and front panel. That has already been arranged with a friend who is local to me. That can be started when his mini is finnished, which should be quite soon. So its looking quite promising :)

sounds like a start. any idea what kind of engine spec/ turbo you're thinking of yet? or are you going to do a bit of a search and take your time?

yeah, i've been trying to get as much info as i can really. I've bought some 10cc omegas, a T2 or T25, not sure which one? and i've got a head on order from turbo phil :) with 25cc chambers. I've got a smart car intercooler, but can't really find a descent place and its a bit small, so I'm on the lookout for an intercooler setup. I've also hopefully got a turbo carb sorted also from phil. I wired in an Spi tank last weekend, tested all ok! So just on the lookout for a few more bits. The engine is on its way out, the gearbox has straight cut drops already, but i need to buy an x pin diff. The base engine I'm starting with is my 1293, which was morspeed built only 6k miles ago, but i've not really been happy with it which is why i decided to rebuild myself!
